I keep hearing conflicting messages about witches...are they witches or wiccans? What's the difference? Do they kill animals for spells? Do they use blood or hairs for spells? Is there a sight where I can learn about it?

Ok.....
Witches are people who practice a certain form of magic(k). They work typically with nature and herbs and crystals and such, and create and cast spells. Witchcraft though, is not a religion, but simply a way of working magic.

Wicca, on the other hand is a religion. It uses magic, and it's adherents are witches as well as being Wiccan. There are many different forms of Wicca, including Seax, Faerie, Dianic, Celtic, Alexandrian, Gardneria and others. The differences are mostly philosophical, and most versions have a great deal in common.

Wiccans typically deal with a number of different Gods and Goddesses, with most believing that these are simply a form or representation of a "great spirit" or Deity.

Wiccans have a great respect for life and do not take it lightly. As such, they believe that sacrifices of animals or humans is wrong. Wiccan sacrifice usually takes the form of bread or crystals, or things meaningful to the individual. Many Wiccans wouldn't even sacrifice a plant, recognizing it as a living thing.

Wicca is part of a larger grouping called Neo-Pagan. As a group, Pagans have a wider range of beliefs than do Wiccans. Still, the reports of so called ritual sacrifice of animals and humans is largely contrived. An individual murder may have some ritualistic aspects, but this as yet has not been tied to any real Pagan or Wiccan group. We simply don't believe that way.

Most Wiccans will not use blood for spells. An Athame (ritual knife) that touches blood will be rendered useless for further ritual. Hair may be used, but most Wiccans will not cast spells "on" a person without their permission. So, a spell using hair of a person to make them fall in love with someone would not likely happen. Using someone's hair though, to cast a spell for healing might be more likely. A coven member in a hospital for cancer treatment may offer a bit of hair to the coven as part of a spell for healing; the hair being a tangible presence of the member in the circle.

The most likely crimes to be tied to any Wiccan group are those of civil disobedience when protesting war or environmental travesty.

No, they NEVER kill animals for spells, and a witch and a wiccan is pretty much the same thing, just a different name. I've never heard of a wiccan that used blood, but some use hairs, if only their own. There are countless websites to look at. Just use a search engine.

Wicca is a nature based religion that honors a god and goddess, or several gods and goddesses, depending on the tradition.
A witch is someone who seeks to change reality through a directed intent, essentially one who practices magic.
A lot, but not all wiccans consider themselves witches, and not all witches are wiccan.
A primary point of the wiccan religion is "As long as it harms none, do as you will." This is generally interpreted to include any beings or spirits, including one's self, so wiccans do not generally kill animals or use blood in their spells. It is highly uncommon for any witch to do either of these, as witchcraft is very respectful of nature. I cannot definitavely say it doesn't happen, though, because witchcraft is very very broad. I have heard of hairs being used, but usually a spell will call for the witch's hair, not someone else's.

Witches may be Wiccans. Wicca is a religion.

Most witches do not kil lanimals for spells, but a few do. Most follwo "The rule of three" which says any thing they do will come back to them three fold, and harming an animal is applicable. Most witches do not use blood, unless it is menstral [Some, liek me have no problem bleeding a bit], and hair is used often [Bat's blood, dragons blood, and most of the other bloods sold are actual herbal mixtures] for creating a connection.

The facet of the Bible in which the witch quote comes from is from the Old Testament. That whole segment is a algorithm to preserve the tradition and populace of a small nomadic herding persons intact. The precise line was once you shall no longer undergo a non-Jewish witch to reside. There had been Jewish witches and so they had been permitted. Non-Jewish witchcraft could have probably eroded facet of the cultural integrity of the organization. Most of the principles of the Old Testament had been over-ridden via the phrases of Jesus within the New Testament. I do not feel that he condemned witches along with his possess phrases. Don't concentrate to some thing that Paul wrote. He was once a sour eunuch who believed that females did not have souls and that the one strategy to get to heaven was once to grow to be a eunuch like him. That's often greater than you desired to understand!:)

Paganism is the same as witchcraft. A wiccan is a type of pagan. Not all pagans are wiccan, but all wiccans are pagan. Think of wicca as one branch of many kinds of paganism. They don't kill animals for spells. There are some spells that require blood, which is their own, they don't sacrifice people or anything. Haven't seen a spell that require hairs, but I'm no expert either. I'll have to dig around to find some helpful sites.

it depends there are pagan withes and there are wiccan both use fairly natural magick no blood thats more a voodoo thing the animal blood there's many site s just do a websearch on Magick not magic and i'm sure you'll find a few good ones ..

High magick and chaos magick are both other forms that exist not really associated with natural magicks performed in pagan based practises , high magick comprises of kabblah , magickal ceremony , divination, sexaul magick ( tantra ) , enochian magick , goetia magick etc. probably slightly more evil in appearnace then the pagan stuff but in reality high magick is about gnosis connecting with the energies of the God-head ,

Chaos magick doesn't except any boundrys what so ever and can also look very scary to outsiders but once again is based on gnostic proinciple and harnessing the power of the mind

In general, wiccans (or witches) do not harm anything because they believe that anything done comes back in three... in other words, any negative energies released into the universe return to the source (themselves) in the form the three times the negative energies they released, and any positive energies released do the same. There are websites that you could learn more about them, but at the moment no prominent ones come to mind.
