Do witches use the pentacle for their spells? Do they use it at all? What is it for? Is it a sign of Satan?

The pentacle is the thing on the altar. Thew pentagram with a circle aroun it. It represents the unity of all 5 elements [Air, Fire, Water, Eart, and Spirit] Spirit i the point that faces up, as well as the circle.

Generally, I use the pentacle for the centerpiece on the altar, and for putting my bread and wine on, and for offerings of things.

If you mean pentagram, [5 pointed star, no circle], then yes for spell work. I personally use the specific element I'm trying to invoke with it [It depends on how the star is drawn] [or banish at the end]. It's a highly magical symbol, for protection, and even invoking.

No, it is not a sign of Satan, though if you use an inverted 5 pointed star [upside down], one can see a goat's head. Persoanlly, I find that rubbish and use an inverted pentagram during clensing and banishing before the regular. It's really just a more earthed energy at that point.

I hope that answers your question, feel free to IM me for more information if you want.

It is often used for spells. It represents the 5 elements, Earth, Air, Fire, Water, and then Spirit on the top point.
Satanists do use the pentacle, inverted (unside down, point down), as their symbol. The pentacle is not a sign of Satan. Pagans, whom have the right side up pentacle, don't believe the existence of pagan, let along worship him.

The pentacle is used in some spells, yes. It all depends on what the spell is, who the witch is. Many factors. Each of the points represent the elements earth, air, water, fire and spirit. It's not a sign of Satan. Spirit is the topmost point in a right-side up pentagram, nothing evil about it.

Well..... in wicca it can only be used for good spells.

Live an’ let live - Fairly take an’ fairly give.
Cast the Circle thrice about To keep all evil spirits out.
Eight words ye Wiccan Rede fulfill - An’ it harm none, Do what ye will.
A inverted pentacle is used in black magic... but, if you use this type of magic, it is told you sell your soul and worship satan!
There are various uses in wicca with the pentacle. One is used for protection. Some make there altars in the middle of a pentacle to protect them from evil when doing spells. They are to open their circle and close their circle while doing their magic!
A pentagram (sometimes known as pentalpha or pentangle) is a five-pointed star drawn with five straight strokes. The word pentagram comes from the Greek word πεντάγραμμον
Christians once more commonly used the pentagram to represent the five wounds of Jesus[1][2], and it also has associations within Freemasonry.
neo-Pythagorean understanding that the five vertices of the pentagram represent the four elements with the addition of Spirit as the uppermost point. As a representation of the elements, the pentagram is involved in the Wiccan practice of summoning the elemental spirits of the four directions at the beginning of a ritual
(water,air,earth,fire and the divine spirit)
"Pentagram has always been used in ritual magic and in the witchcraft rites of healing."
If you read about the wiccan ways you can obtain a better understanding!

It's a holy symbol that represents the four elements (earth, air, fire and water) and spirit. It's a Wiccan symbol irregardless of whether or not it's inverted. The majority of Wiccans in the US wear it with one point up and two points down. There are a lot of Wiccans in Europe that wear it with one point down and two points up (inverted). The main reason why the majority of Wiccans in the US don't wear it inverted is the stereotype given it, i.e.; Satanic. Wiccans do not believe in Satan. Satan is a Christian deity. So to believe in Satan you would in a way have to be a Christian. As far as if Satanist use it or not. You'd have to do some research on Satanism and Luciferianism to find out. Or wait for someone that is one to answer you're question from their point of view. I'm not one, I'm a Wiccan.

Witches use the pentacle to represent the elements-Earth, Air, Fire, Water and Spirit. It also represents a person-arms, legs and head. It is a common symbol in nature-five petaled flowers, etc. Satanists borrowed it, like Hitler borrowed the swastika. It means something different to each person. In spells, it is used to focus energy, if it is used at all.

Sometimes. its not the symbol of Satan. That's the Christians trying to twist anything that isn't Christian related into the meaning of the devil. Witches don't believe in satan.

The symbol means two things...

The top point is the spirit. The other points are the elements of the earth (earth, air, fire, water). The circle is the world surrounding all things. The star is inside the circle yet joined to it, meaning that the world is greater than all the elements inside it and yet all those elements are part of it.

It also represents the mind ruling over the baser elements of the body surrounded by the world with the world being greater than any one being living inside it.

Its the representation that says we are a part of the world, not above it. The world, and all thats part of it, is greater than we just as the elements of the world are greater than anything we are.

The Church adopted it as a sign of Satan, but it is a symbol of the Feminine, and also a symbol of the five elements (earth, fire, air, earth and spirit) that show them all connected. It is used in spells, but also protection from evil.

Yes, they do. Depending on whether the star is pointed up or down determines whether you are a good witch or a Satanists.
