The 2 year old will only eat junk food. Should i tell him he gets nothing apart from what i give him for dinner and let him go hungry if he wont eat it or just let him have a sandwitch and let the parents train him with the healthy food? I look after the kids approx 2 nights per week. The parents dont mind what i do.

Trick him

My son wants the same thing, so, I pick something that I know he will eat, like mac and cheese, and I puree vegetables, and add it in. The pieces are so small and the cheese covers the taste that he does not know he is eating healthy. So find a way to trick him.

You're on the right track but a little off. If the child won't eat the healthy food you serve for dinner and later gets hungry, don't let him go hungry, just heat up the food he refused earlier. That's what I do. Or you can also offer a healthy snack.

I'm sorry, but you aren't the parent. If the parents don't care what he eats all the effort in the world isn't going to get him to choose good stuff over junkie stuff.
I liked the idea about pureeing the food, but maybe you could comment to the parents what you see about his habits and ask if they intend it that way. Chances are they want to change his habits, but he's stubborn.
But take step back and only interfere with their permission.

What if you involve him in the cooking process of dinner? If he helps prepare the meal then maybe he will be excited to eat it! Kids love cooking. Hope this helps :) Good luck

Sorry to answer a question with a question, but what about your training?
