Honestly, this question sounds a little disingenuous. If the Sikh person in question is old enough to read a book and go to school, and isn't living in a hole in the ground, I imagine he "gets it". Is the point that you want to "explain" to him actually that you are trying to "save" him? My advice is to ask him about Sikhism -- and LISTEN, if he'll listen to you.

I'll assume the question is innocent --
1) You could refer him to any number of internet sites. Just make sure that they're the type of Internet sites that your Sikh friend would read, not just the kind of sites you feel he SHOULD read.
2) If he is actually interested further, you might try the sort of shorthand that Methodists use -- which boils the gospel message down to what will fit in a very small pamphlet. It's inoffensive and politically moderate.
3) See what (s)he thinks about #2. If (s)he is still interested, invite him/her to attend a church service with you, or better yet, a church EVENT... get to know the folks you worship with so that they learn that not all Christians are Bible-thumping, flag-waving morons. And even if you are, tone it down a bit at least for the visit.
4) If they're still interested, arrange for them to meet with your pastor or whatever and get to know your religion a little more seriously.

The trick -- be gentle, listen, and BE what you want people to think of when they think of Christianity, and I think that at WORST you've opened their eyes a little.

Peace

Read it in the Amplified Version. All versions say the same thing but the Amplified gives all conotations and denotations of the original Greek and Hebrew of the Bible. It's the best version I know. Read it for free in http://www.biblegateway.com/. It has almost all versions and languages.

18No man has ever seen God at any time; the only unique Son, or the only begotten God, Who is in the bosom [in the intimate presence] of the Father, He has declared Him [He has revealed Him and brought Him out where He can be seen; He has interpreted Him and He has made Him known].

The entire scripture is a description of God. You will need to be more specific to get good answers.
