Regardless of the fact there are websites out there that you could do this on, self diagnosis is extremely dangerous. If I was you I would start by talking to a GP. They could link you in with a counsellor. Depending on your age and symptoms, this may be enough to see you through. If you do have a diagnosable mental illness then you can look into treatment options. Counselling, medication or natural alternatives.

Obviously you have some sort of problems with your parents if you think they would disown you if you do suffer from a mental illness.

Depending on your age, you may not have mental illness at all, and instead are just going through the normally confusing period of growing up. Dont be in such a hurry to diagnose yourself as mentally ill. Aside from the labels, and other repercussions these labels can have, it can be very belittling to others out there who have a genuinely diagnosed mental problem, and not just a case of being a bit sad, confused, or overwhelmed.

do we have the same parents?!? aha jk. my mother was the same way. I was the perfect daughter, there cannot be anything wrong with me. I was supposedly making it all up. and it just resulted in me seeing a psychologist twice a week for a very long time.

diagnosing yourself online isn't such a hot idea because then you will become POSITIVE that you have a certain disorder, and may inadvertantly exhibit more pronounced symptoms and letting it sprial out of control.

best step, talk to a school counsleor. if that doesn't work out, (if you don't like them, etc.) just try and rationally talk to your parents. tell them that you feel you could benefit and be a happier person if you were able to talk to a professional who could help you through your problems. they will want to help you themselves first, but just kindly let them know that you appreciate their concern, and it makes you feel better, you would just prefer someone with an objective opinion. (those are the key words!!)

also, start a journal (if you havent already) and each month or so, go back through and look for patterns in behavior. those patterns you see in your writing would be something to talk about with the professional.

good luck, it will all work out for the best =)

The best advice I can give you to see your DR. All mental symptoms may differ to your particular mental condition. Also
it will be a good Idea to tell your parent how you feel you don't have to be specific. You can tell them you are worrying too much and you may need some help from DR. Or to talk to you school nurse, just don't delay. It may be you are worrying too much. You
should not try to deal with your problem by your self or diagnose your self by going to the web site. Mental health a serious issue. You can only get a general Idea but not complete information.

I don't think your parents would disown you. The thing with emotional/mental disorders is that there is a stigma attached to them. Often people who suffer from it blow it up to be more than it is and feel a sene of shame. I know, cos I've been there.
I think your best bet would be to post a question here with your symptoms. There are some very knowledgeable people here who won't judge you.

No particularly the different is authentic. you may discover you have a topic and with the aid of admitting that and searching for help people won't think of you're stupid yet have the braveness to handle it. no longer a doctor so shouldn't probable remark yet perchance you nonetheless have a topic that hasn't been resolved in the previous and resurfaced a sprint and now needs to be dealt with appropriate. visit the docs, open up and communicate. stable luck and the very terrific of needs.

http://www.mentalhealth.com/

This website is interesting and might give you some idea of what you are dealing with...but really, only a mental health professional can diagnose you (although diagnosis are tricky and so some degree the opinion of the dr/therapist.)
