If he exists as written in the old testament, then Satan is the good guy and is revered for his teaching humans about good and evil. That said, God, as written in the bible, is the Earths single most heinous murderer. Satan never kills anyone in the bible (though he did give Job a hard time).

Satan. We know he exists because of all the temptations that happen every day to do things immoral, wrong, and hurtful. (eg. cheat on someone you love, kill someone, steal something- even a job or person)
Freak accidents are not Satan's work, and Hell is not a product of Satan. Freak accidents are the work of random things that happen. Hell is not from Satan, but from God. Hell is located deep inside the earth, and is a place where you cannot have contact with God. The only reason someone would go there is as God's punishment for denying him in life.

Hope this helps.

There is such a battle going on that we can't see. Don't think of Satan as some red, horned goat legged guy standing in Hell. Those are all made up to make people let their guard down. He is the leader of the fallen angels. He is working over time to make people think he isn't real, and to win as many people over to his side as possible. All he has to do is keep people from making a choice, he gets them by default. He has his angels impersonate dead loved ones as ghosts, terrorises the ignorant in 3rd world countries through witch doctors and demonic possesions, and constantly works behind the scenes to cause confusion and strife between nations and people. If you do some research into satanic cults or read stories of ojiwa boards and other occultish things, you will see how he works to frighten and confuse. The best news is that Jesus has beaten him. He has no power over Christians. Just remember in your search do not become infatuated with his power or get over interested in this topic. If you open up yourself to him, he will do everything in His power to destroy you. This is not some hokey-pokey made up crap. I have friends who have had real encounters with this sort of stuff. It is DEADLY serious. Remember Christ always trumps the devil.

According to the Bible, both God and Jesus had conversations with him. Hell is not a place of Satan's dwelling. Satan is on earth. He was confined here by Jesus Christ in 1914 when Jesus first sat down on his Father's throne in heaven.

No, I don't think it just comes down to human error!

I guess as you say, you have not personally seen evil, but it is definitely a force in the world, with it's own power, and force and intelligence. It is a very master-minded thing.

Starvation, and famines, diseases out of control, murders, suicides, genocide, all kinds of human rights abuses, the destruction of our planet to name a few.

Not to mention the simpler things. Like people putting each other down when they should be helping each other and building each other up. Stealing, hitting and punching each other...

No I think Satan is alive a well. I do see him as metaphorical for an evil force, but that evil force is here.

Greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.

There is a book out called "The Origin of Satan" that will give you a good synopsis of the whole subject.

Satan was just doing his job for god until the Christians turned him into a monster to justify their theology. Satan is a mythological figure who went through many transformations during the development of various religions (he began his career in the ancient Mesopotamian religions as did all angels).

Here my take on this. I know Satan is real based on some of the things people do. Jeffery Dahlmer, Ted Bundy, your everyday serial killers. I believe they had evil in there hearts and minds. Sexual sadist, child molesters, child abusers, rapists, people who do things to intentionally hurt others. That to me says they have evil in them. Evil comes from Satan. He may not be a person but he is a being. As far as Hell is concerned. I don't know for sure. I do believe that some of us will be punished for things we did on earth in the afterlife. If its not Heaven then what is it? Do you think Saddam Hussein will go to heaven? Me neither. I do think he will be dealt with. I will say this, I believe in God. That much I know is true. You look at good in this world and you see God at work. You look at evil, you see the devil at work. That is my soap box moment for the day.

How do we know there is a Satan? 9-1-1.

Maybe satan takes human form. Look at Napoleon, Hitler, Stalin, Mussolini, or Bin Laden. Maybe satan could be more than one person at once.
