Ok first of all you have to eat in order to be healthy. So don't starve yourself or anything. Some people have a disorder that causes them to eat more when they are stressed. Or some are like my best friend who eat because they are addicted to it and don't have anything better to do (so they eat out of boredom). The best way to do it. Is to get an activity to replace it. Don't try the diet pills they don't really work. You could however try having 3 smaller meals a day and then snacking on some healthfull snacks in between this would lower your intake but keep you feeling satisfied. I really hope that this helps you. Also I stumbled upon a site that really helped me out a while back. And the best part about it. is that it's free. With people that are going through the same thing to support you in ever step of your journey to a new and slimmer you. It is www.sparkpeople.com. I hope that this information helped you. Good luck on your journey and God Bless.

Figure out why you are thinking about it and deal with it from there.

Using it to deal with emotions?
Tastes good?
Treating yourself?
Bored?
Don't know what to eat?

Try writing out a mealplan for the next day and allowing yourself a few snacks.

Refer to the plan at mealtimes so you don't need to think about it too much. Just see what's on the menu and cook it and eat it.

For snacks just have whatever you want but set a limit according to your daily caloric intake (eg snack must be 100 cals or under, 3 snacks per day)
This way it won't be really strict and you can have a bit of what you fancy but can't go wild with it.

I have lost 40 lbs. Gone from type 2 diabetic to normal blood sugar levels, and am in the best shape of my life. Here is what I did:

1). Made the decision, overeating was not an option, (sounds silly, but whenever I knew I had eaten my caloric limit for the day, I just said, no more.. no matter what).

2). Started taking a 75% / 25% blend of insoluble / soluble fiber blend prior to each meal, (it absorbs carbs, lowers cholesterol and makes you feel full longer).

3). Started taking Green Tea supplements, (and drinking green tea throughout the day). It increases metabolism, strengthens your immune system, etc.

4). Started taking Fish Oil, (Omega 3), to increase my good cholesterol, (as often lower fat diet changes also has the negative effect of lowering your good cholesterol).

5). Stopped consuming all calorie laden drinks, (except for 1 glass of orange juice or other juice), and only take in calories and carbs from "food". (Helps me feel fuller and lowers my hunger throughout the day).

6 months after doing these things, I was 40 lbs. lighter, and now its 3 years later, and I haven't gained back 1 lb.

Good luck with your efforts!

Go to www.sparkpeople.com
It is a healthy way to lose weight and it is a free site. It's like having your private nutritionist.
You type in how much you want to lose and by when etc...and they plan out your meals so you can achieve your goal. They have a calorie counter and everything. Plus they give you a fitness plan according to what type of exercising you like to do. It is free with support from the members and a real neat site. I'm really impressed.

About not thinking about food, you should try praying and reading Gods Word(Bible). Prayer is powerful.
Have fun!
Enjoy!

God Bless!

Great question. I have the same problem. One simple thing u can do is drink a lot of water. That's the only thing that's practical. People will tell u to make up your mind and what not, but I know that's it really difficult no matter how hard you try. Drink water when ever u think of food and feel hungry. It does wonders for your skin as well.

Find something that makes you feel good about yourself and concentrate on that instead of the good feeling and satisfaction you get from eating. Problem eating is because of this good feeling and satisfactoin you get from food. It's all about changing the way you think.

Try a sport, such as dancing or soccer. It really helps your body move. And the more you move a drink water, the more your body feels refreashed. What made you bring this question up anyways? Not eating isn't good for you. Try eating apples and salads if its a diet.

i shrink my stomach every six months. it is a three day process to do, but if you are interested, it is completely safe, natural, and when you are done, you won't be able to eat as much. if you dont want to do that, you can buy at a healt food store, an herb called Hoodia. this herb tricks your brain into thinking that you have already eaten, and you feel full. if you want to know how to shrink your stomach, feel free to email me. also, during the process (the three days) you lose weight, and detox your body.
