You have probably been listening to the Bubba Preachers; Who define God as all powerful, and all knowing.(then when something bad happens to you, you think God knew about it, he had the power to do something about it, therefore you say "He is not a nice person". These Bubba preachers blame the victims; even innocent children who are killed by tornadoes while they sleep quitely in their beds.)
But, what if God is really a loving scientist from an advanced planet. A planet that has only a few lonely harmony loving folks who were lonesome.
So they sent God to find some harmony loving folks(neighbors). But God was really interested in free will. So he did what he did, in order to discern which of us would be good neighbors for the people on his planet. Those that choose harmony as a way of life, will be reconstructed, after their stay here on Earth, and sent to Planet H (Heaven). Those that choose disharmony will be sent to Planet HD, not for punishment, but so as to quarantine them away from the harmony loving people in Heaven.
God risked his life to come to this dangerous planet. He is very very powerful because of his advanced technology, but he cannot control storms (well, he can. But that is a long story). And it is not his fault that the world is so screwed up.
For pete's sake, God is offering us eternal life to be with the kind of people that fits our personality, what more do you want from him. He cares about both the harmony loving and even those that choose disharmony. But, he is not all powerful, or all knowing like religious leaders have said about him in order to awe us and scare us into supporting their selfish empires.(of course you could say that he is all powerful and all knowing compared to us.)
What about "Hell"? That, too, is a long story.) OK, OK, I will give you a clue. Hell is not in God's character/ personality. So, who created "Hell"?

I believe in a God other than what the Chirstians think, mainly because I don't think that Jesus had to die on the cross for our sins because a God of infinite love would have just said "Hey, don't worry about it," instead of needing a blood sacrifice because some of us are chronic mastubators. But, I think most of the way the world is is because of people. You can't give free will only to those that would use it to make the right choice.

I believe in a God that is different then the one Christians believe in, but I dont think he is a complete jerk. I think God is just out there allowing us to make our own decisions and choices and we are the ones that are choosing the bad chaiotic choices. Its us that chose violence over peace, we are greedy and all fighitng over power.
So actually we are the jerks, not God.

I think it's because of the problem associated with free will. If God were to correct those problems, wouldn't that mean he took away their will to do such acts?
I believe God really wants to help us but not at the cost of taking away our ability to choose. I think God holds out hope that one day we can make informed decisions.
That's why praying for certain things, while comforting, doesn't help. We can't ask him to correct our mistakes because we'd never learn. We humans are slow like that.

wow... it's so sad to hear how u feel about GOD.... i understand your point of view but u have to remember that satan entered this world to destroy it... so do u really think GOD would join in and destroy HIS own creation... HE loves us, and sent JESUS to die for our sins, so that we can inherit eternal life... we have a choice it's up to us to decide to believe GOD and trust in him or turn our backs on HIM, i personally choose to believe GOD, i love HIM so much... no matter how hard your life gets HE is there to help us.. if u haven't experienced his love in your life, i tell you it's the best decision u can ever make... to love your CREATOR and believe that HE IS KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS... GOD BLESS

god is your spiritual father, he cant violate any laws anymore than you can. you have your free agency, you choose a certain path and the consequences of that choice are made manifest. we were with god before we came to this earth life, we chose to live on faith, to have our faith tried and tested to forge testimonies that will withstand the ages

'He' is a way for people to transform their own minds towards love and compassion (ideally, although I sometimes wonder).
It's a very good psychological trick and it works... to some extent.
