No, you kind of need the turbo for a blow off valve to work.

To answer your question... YES you can put a blowoff valve on your intake piping. Will it do anything??? That's another question. No it won't, no cool noise or venting at all. If anything it will decrease your performance very slightly (it will slightly restrict your intake flow, more bends mean more restrictive air flow!) In all honesty, I don't see why doing something like this would cross your mind. Another thing you need to think about is your 350z stock intake is made out of PLASTIC!!! aftermarket BOV's use steel or aluminum flanges which can't be welded 2 PLASTIC!!! And if you do find a way 2 super glue or duct tape the BOV 2 your stock intake pipe, your intake would still lead 2 the factory air box clearly visible when your hood is opened. save yourself the $250 a blitz or greddy bov would cost you and buy a nice intake for your 350z and no one will laugh at you, heck you might even get some props for the nice intake under your hood. hope this helps, and i don't blame you for your confusion... I blame the Fast & the Furious movie series! that damm Paul Walker and his COOL air intake haha

No, blow off valves release the pressure built up from the turbocharger into the atmosphere. There is no way to release pressure thats not there. The best way for you to get the "psssshh" sound that a turbo with a BOV makes, is to install a turbo. If you just want a BOV for the cool sound, why don't you get a good exhaust that sounds sweet for your Z?

there is no point, the blow off valves for turbochargers keep you from over boosting and damaging your engine. Your stock intake will not make enough pressure to activate the blow off valve, so you won't have the spiffy sound that comes with them. If you absolutely have to have the sound of a blow off valve, then buy one and hook it up to a small air compressor, that you can hook up to a switch, inside your car. It won't quite sound the same, but there ya go.

Do you know what a Blow Off valve is?
Amy V. was on the right track....but what she described was a Turbo Actuator/Wastegate, THIS relieves preassure and harmfull hot gasses from the Turbo itself. The Blow off Valve Relieves air that is still between the Intercooler piping and the entrance of the turbine wheel, so that when the next spool up comes it doesn't suck that "extra" air. So if you dont have a turbo........you can't have one. If you want you should do what was mentioned earlier, a sound effect one. Ive heard them and they sound very real! I was suprised....but then again its still a preatty lame.

There are companies that make a fake blow off valve that makes a pssshhtttt noise when you push a button but

It will not make you fast nor furious

It will make you look like a poser to all your friends

Guys like me will race you when your car "blows off" at the wrong time or at idle just to make you look silly.

But if you want to look stupid go to

By the way a 350z with a single supper 16g will be pretty fast

A blow off valve discharges the excess intake pressure when the throttle blades are closed. In reality, that excess pressure reverses up the intake back to the blower, causing the blower to "stall". Stalling the turbo is not good, and its preferable to vent the boost. The wastegate effectively prevents over-revving the turbo, not stalling it. And "storing" the excess pressure doesn't do you any good, since you have caused a little reversion through your intake, effectively confusing your intake flow reading, which won't be 'read' properly.

No air to blow off turbo pressure in the intake is the whoosh sound when the throttle is quickly closed. Blow off sound can be recorded and played back from a big lould speaker each time the throttle is closed. Good Question however!

Before yo invest yo dough on a blow valve, make sure yo exhaust bearings are clean and up to spec, get new blinker fluid (synthetic is best), and get straight main bearing pipes from hks.
