my dogs chew up my house when i leave them in and if i put them in the back yard they dig under the fence. we fixed the digging under the fence but now they dig random huge holes in the yard. and bark at the neighbor and really piss him off i think he keeps trying to poison them they keep getting sick so i need to be able to keep them in.

my dog did not chew anything as a puppy and then one day i was gone for a long long time. she simply got bored and ate the house. She was over a year old. you may want to leave the tv or radio on for them while inside, and perhaps get a "cookie ball" that you can put little treats in, they come out randomly, but as they come out, the fewer that are in there, the longer it takes to get them out. my dog will play soccer with the cookie ball for about an hour....and then shes ready to drink water, eat, watch tv and sleep.

It sounds like either they are bored or have seperation anxiety.
You might want to try getting them a doggy puzzle treat ball (one for each dog) or consider crating them.
Also, due to recent events i got to knwo a bit more about muzzles. I personally can not consider the fabric ones humane other than for the use of a procedure that is only going to take five to 10 minutes. Even responsible manufacturers of the soft muzzels will tell you not to leave them on your dog for any more than 20 minutes. If you want to try the route of a muzzle I'd suggest looking into getting basket muzzles. If it gets cold where you are (just in case you ever want to use the muzzles outside the house,) i'd suggest getting the plastic kind or the wire with vinyl coating.
Maybe look into getting a dog walker for them if you are gone from home for long hours.

Poison?? That's illegal! Anyway yes your dogs are really bored. Do you give them regular walks? Sounds like you have big dogs. Because big dogs need to walk or they get restless and end up destroying everything. Since they're grown it's either you hire an instructor for them which is costly or discipline them yourself. When you catch them in the act of chewing spank their mouth and make sure to maintain eye contact with them. You have to make sure they're scared of you so they get the idea. But only if you catch them in the act so that they'll know what they did was wrong. Show them what they chewed and say "NO!" Weird but it works on them!

I am not a huge dog expert, but I have a chinese crested that used to do this chewing thing. I would put a mixture of tobasco and cheyenne pepper on the things they chew the most....like a shoe, couch, things like that. It cleans off of surfaces and it makes them think twice about putting stuff in their mouths. Or, you could try a humane soft type muzzle. We use one on our dog because he bellows from his kennel at night. It also works great for chewing, but yet they can still drink. Good luck!

Well, I hope your neighbor isn't poisoning them! What kind of dogs do you have? I have used just a little sprinkle of cayenne pepper in the holes my lab pup digs. Once she decides she doesn't like the smell or the sensation on her paws, she thinks twice about digging. What's making them sick though? Are they vomiting? If yes, how much?? That isn't normal so something is upsetting their tummies. Good luck.

I would either crate them or give them a favorite toy. I had a similar promblem so I gave my dog a kong and filled it with a little bit of peanut butter. She stopped chewing up everythng and is alot quiter when I leave. If your dog is a heavy chewer I would give them the black kong.

Your dogs are bored. You need to find some way of keeping them entertained. Maybe chew toy? Your dogs should quit wandering if you get them fixed.

Sounds like your dogs need some behavior modification and you need to spend time working with them, teaching them what is appropriate and what's not. Dogs only know what we teach them, we can't expect a dog to know how to behave if we don't take the time they require to teach them.
You can't expect a pup to grow up to be a good dog without any training.
Maybe dog obedience is a good start for you and your dogs, consider it a tool to help you help them be good dogs.
