Because that is what we are taught, to be Christ-like. Also, we are happy because we have knowledge of the true and complete gospel.

Mormons are so nice because they want to "love and fellowship" you into joining their "church", just like some other religions out there. Only years later, you learn that their "Jesus" and "God" sound a little bit different that the "traditional Christian Trinitiarian God". Now whether you think that they are a church or a cult, it's your decision because each person is free to worship as he chooses in America. I believe in being nice to all people.

If you have a long-term perspective of the purpose of life, it makes it easier to put up with things that annoy people in general. And anyway, since we consider everyone to be a child of God, everyone is just a brother or sister we haven't met for a while.

I know, it's creepy in a Stepford kind of way. Had an ex that was LDS, and her family was huge of course, and they all just loved each other so much and buttered each others bread every day it made me kind of sick.
