Lately I've been feeling starved for affection, I just want someone to hold my hand, to snuggle with, you know? I just feel this strange urge to hug someone...does anyone know what I'm talking about? Its this nagging feeling that just won't go away...maybe I'm crazy I don't know, if you know what I'm talking about please tell me how you deal with this.

I completely understand you..I feel like I am in the same situation. Try not to think about it too much, God will put you the right person for a reason. I listen to music, hangout with my friends, etc. Be patient :)

I read a good book or talk on the phone or go out with a friend. We all want affection. I understand. I just moved to a new state after a sad separation from a boyfriend who moved out of the country.
I just keep busy. Stay attractive, and hope for the best. I am confident that eventually someone will notice.
In the meantime, you could always get a puppy. I would, but I don't have the time to commit to one.

I feel that way a lot myself! Its really hard to find someone to be close with and who will be there for you.

Gosh I do a number of things. I go on line, watch movies, read etc. What I find comforting is when I go on line and find sites like Lovingyou.com and others and just read poems, e-cards, listen to music etc.

You can also type in Dealing with Loneliness and find all sorts of uplifting stuff to read.

I hope this is of some help to you. Take Care.

I don't know, the feeling does pass. But I know how it feels when you are going through it. Its hard to explain.

If you can't see someone who is special to you, CALL someone that you know loves you, or cares about you, or someone that you've been meaning to call for a long time and just haven't taken the time to do. And, you might even consider praying to God about your lonliness, and ask him to supply you with ideas of how you might best conquer this feeling you're having. Maybe you could even consider volunteering in a local hospital to visit with terminally-ill patients and/or families in crisis, or try a Christian service agency in your area who needs warm and loving people like you to help them let others know that they're not alone and that there's someone out there that cares. The holiday season is the worst time for many people, and I'm sure that if you do decide to do something like I've suggested, you won't have time to think about how lonely you are, but will be helping not only your state of lonliness, but just maybe someone else's too! God bless you and God bless others who you just might help feel alittle less lonely too during this holiday season.
You also might want to visit a local "Homeless Pet Shelter" for a nice pet like a "snuggly" cat or dog. They can really help you to turn your focus from yourself, and will also make you feel appreciated, loved and really needed. The real bonus here is also that you are saving a pet's life by adopting it and making it your best friend! They will love you unconditionally!
I don't know your particular situation, but I hope this will help alittle. Might also want to join a Christian or secular single's group...even one that focuses on a particular hobby that you might already enjoy or one that you would like to become more involved in and learn about.
God bless you...

I'm feeling that a bit now. It doesn't help to listen to sad music, I tell you that. Thank God I'm going on a little vacation tomorrow.

Put it this way...

If you ask out 10 people and 1 says yes...you can get 5 dates scheduled by asking 50 different people.

So log off and get out there and start meeting new people!

I listen to sad songs and mellow in that mood for a while. It'll pass I always say, and it does. After that, I feel alot better.

Yeah, I know exactly what you are talking about...and I just have to let it pass...if there's no one there to share that contact/affection with, there's not much one can do about it...
