why are there so many people here asking serious medical questions which if something is done wrong the person could die. And yet when you answer them "go ask a doctor" you get the answer deleted I think Yahoo wants people to die

Are we talking people or animals because this is posted in the dog section.
To answer your question, people come here often when they're scared to turn to a doctor or when they want ideas of what could be wrong so they know questions to ask the doctor. Sometimes they might think they are freaking out over nothing and need a second opinion. While still others could have white coat syndrome and are scared to consult a doctor. Either way, most people here are here to help in any way that they can. Just stating go to the doctor doesn't quite cover it, they are looking for ideas and or answers. And some people here are in the medical profession and can give rough ideas, definately not diagnosis but maybe help put a mind at ease.

I think a lot of people make up questions just so they can see what people have to say. A lot of the posters here are kids.

Sometimes people have researched things more than a medical doctor and know more about the research of a particular thing than the doctor has looked into it. I don't think the layman should necessarily should be overlooked.

People need people. My brother is chronically ill. He always talks about his sickness. I think it is a coping mechanism.
They know how to get a doctors advice and most of them do. It is the empathy the doctors lack. You can only get that from friendly regular people.
