This question is not about a step by step on how to cover the oreos. I am curious about what white chocolate I should get. If anyone knows of a good white that I can get at most major grocery stores I would appreciate your input. I was looking at H.E.B. and I saw some ghrardelli baking bars of white chocolate. If it says baking bars does that mean I still need to add sugar?

White-Chocolate Covered Oreos

1 package Oreo cookies (can be regular size, or mini.)
6 ounces white chocolate
1 package candy sprinkles (rainbow, chocolate, etc.)

Melt white chocolate (In microwave, over stove, etc.).
The time it takes to melt it varies, depending on the heat of the microwave or stove.
Heat it up for a minute or two, check on it, and heat it again.
Dip each oreo in white chocolate, then lay out on a paper towel (You can really use anything, tinfoil, baking sheet, etc.).
Sprinkle with sprinkles!
Let cool for about 30 minutes.
Enjoy!

Yes, almond bark is your best bet- Palmer's makes a really good one, but any will do. White baking chocolate does have sugar in it- I would read the instructions on the package very carefully if you plan to use it, as white chocolate is very tempermental- same goes for white chocolate chips. (I have actually set fire to white chips in my microwave, because I failed to read the directions!) Have fun with it- the Oreos sound great!

Almond bark works great, but if you want white chocolate then buy the white chocolate chips and melt them down. You can also mix them with the bark. If you don't think the white chocolate chips will keep from melting in your hands as you eat them then add a little wax,
(not ear), you can buy wax at any grocery store. The wax will firm up the chocolate.
Try melting a pot of white chocolate and a pot of milk chocolate chips and dipping half the cookie in each one.

Get the white bark you can also get it in chocolate. HEB has it. It is usually by the chocolate chips. Melt in microwave or double boiler. You can use it to cover fruit (strawerries etc...) Ritz crackers spread a small amount of peanut butter on cracker top with another cracker and dip. Lots of uses

Ghirardelli is the best with actual cocoa butter. You can use their baking white chocolate bars or better yet, I use their white chocolate chips. You don't need to add sugar to either. These have the highest cocoa butter and that makes them taste much more chocolatey than the fake and waxy almond bark stuff.
ps almost all grocery store have both.

Go to a place like Hobby Lobby or a craft store that sells baking goods. If they do you should be able to find good white chocolate to dip your cookies in. The directions are on the back of the bag and one bag usually does about 2 dozen plus cookies. They also sell flavored oils if you want to make some mint etc...Good Luck!

White chocolate isn't really 'chocolate' and will already have the sugar included, even as a 'baking bar'.

I would go with one of the little tubs of Frutti Dulce (I think that's it's name) they sell in the produce department made just for dipping fruit. Works well with pretzels, chips, cookies, etc, and comes in both white chocolate and milk chocolate. It's in little discs in the tub, the whole thing is nuked (no cleanup!) and it hardens at room temp. It's very convenient and quite tasty.
