I am currently teaching my daughter about the potty.
She is also 2.
Firstly, when I bought the potty I got her to just sit on it so that she could get used to it.
Secondly, when she was comfortable with the potty - I showed her what it was used for.
I always leave the potty in the bathroom.
Next I would take her into the bathroom and explain that mummy was going to the toilet and I would get her to sit on the potty at the same time.
It sounds like alot, but infact it's only been a few weeks of introducing and understanding.
For the last couple of days I have left her nappy off for a few hours here and there and she has sat on the potty. There have been a few hits and misses, which are expected.
Today when she woke up from her afternoon sleep I took her nappy off and she went straight to the potty and did a wee.
I gave her some toilet paper to wipe then told her she was a good girl.
Hope this helps.

wait until they are ready....you can only do so much as far as I'm concerned, let them tell you when they are ready....introducing them into it is OK....but don't force the issue ...it will only back fire...I have 4 kids and each one had their own pace...my son was the hardest to train.....It takes alot of patience and great attitude with this! My 3 girls were easier and all were potty trained before it was time to go to preschool:) good luck !

1st around 2 years old
2nd around 2 1/2 yrs old
3rd around 3 years old
and last little one is doing it now and she just turned 3 a week ago:)

my mother in law told me that with my son my huband should try to use his potty, so if you have a girl she should watch you and boy watch daddy. make it fun, never get mad when they miss or dont make it to the potty on time just give lots of reinforcement when they do it!!! when my son wets himself i shouw him the potty and i tell him while pointing to the wet cloths and potty "we go pee pee in the potty " most children don't start potty training until 2 1/2 so if you can do it now your one great mom!!! best of luck

Don't push they love to rebel, I'm sure your well aware...lol...try just being patient ....try Cheerios as targets...try singing a song when they potty...what works is different with every child....mine did not become trained until 8 days before p-k ....and we tried and tried everything that worked with our other kids but until he was ready nothing worked

I went to the dollar store and bought all sorts of little toys and candy and every time my son got so much as a drop in his potty, he got a prize. Good luck, you're going to need it.
