Cuz they are all idiots. I was thinking that while watching the movie.
...Because we ALL know, everyone looks SO different with their glasses on and a tight *** suit on to go along with it.

Cause the glasses hide his super identity when he's Clark Kent. It's a metaphor for not peering below the surface-why, who knows, beneath that nerd in the cube next to you could be THE MAN OF STEEL.
Or, because it's how the story goes.

Perhaps his face is a little more squarer and stronger looking as Superman. & Clark Kent wears glasses.

becuase clark kent has eyeglasses!!! which i dont think can really cause a confusion...but i think they knew him as superman but never knew clark and if they knew clark they wouldn't associate him with superman..
