Atheists, in almost total unanimity, do not believe in heaven.

No, Atheists cannnot go to heaven. They go to a better place.
Only scripture-citing folks will go to heaven, that is why they answer all questions of religion, theology, and spirituality with a quote from the Bible. Once they do get to heaven it becomes less necessary to keep quoting from the Bible, becuase they find preaching to the converted to be a bore.

if there is such a place, then why not? would god only want superstitious people in heaven or have even those who believe only what they can experience in reality and for argument sake, scientifically? once an atheist gets to heaven, he's a believer too, right? it's a multiple choice test where nobody really knows the answers. why should the wrong answer be penalized?

According to the Bible, no. The only way into heaven is accepting Jesus as your savior, asking forgiveness for your sins, and accepting Jesus' death and resurrection as payment of your sins. That goes against what Atheists believe. Jesus is the only way to heaven- nobody can be "good enough"- that's why God sent his Son.

They don't want to go to heaven. They believe that it's the creation of the religion business that sells a second chance at life for $3 billion a year in donations. They think that once you're dead, you can't come back to complain that there is nothing there but some religion got your money.

Since heaven is defined by almost all religions as the place where the creator dwells, why would you want to go there if you don't believe in a creator? Also, if you went there would you even believe it?
