I was looking for the unforgivable sin, and finally I found the answer in that parable about the King who forgave two debtors. One debtor went out and also forgave his debtors, but the other debtor, took his debtor by the throat and demanded full payment. When the King heard about it, he threw that unforgiving debtor into prison.

Thought I'd share. It was bothering me. I guess we can never hold a grudge....Man, are we in doodoo...

No, this is not the unforgivable sin. But, you are right we should freely forgive others as we ourselves have been forgiven much. The man owed a huge debt, impossible to pay back on his own. The King forgave the debt, as God does when we accept Jesus blood price. But, the man turned around and almost immediately after being forgiven demands a fellow servant to pay back a paltry sum. So this moral is forgive as you are forgiven.

The unforgivable is found in these verses and hotly debated.

Mark 3:29
But whoever blasphemes against the Holy Spirit will never be forgiven; he is guilty of an eternal sin."

Luke 12:10
And everyone who speaks a word against the Son of Man will be forgiven, but anyone who blasphemes against the Holy Spirit will not be forgiven.

Read them in context and pray about it, but my feeble attempt would be to say this. Jesus was emptied of all but Love and pointed the way to the Father. Say what you will about him he will offer no defense. The Spirit is the power of God at work in the hearts of Man. Promised of God to point the way to him till the time Christ returns. Quenching the work of the spirit in your life or worse some one else's life could cause them to make a decision that will make them suffer in hell forever. Should a person like that who knows the truth and does this escape the wrath of God?

Good grief. Are you people just making this stuff up as you go along? Jesus atoned for the sins of all mankind; that means, even if you mess up you can still be forgiven! However, there is an unpardonable sin, it is called blasphemy against the Spirit. To accomplish this almost impossible feet, you have to know for a surety, by conformation of the Spirit, that Jesus is the Christ and then deny it. In comparison, it would be like looking at the sun and denying that it gives light. Other than that, everything is forgivable to he who repents.

An unforgivable sin is described in Mark 3 and Matthew 12.

"'Whoever blasphemes against the Holy Spirit never has forgivness, but is guilty of an eternal sin.' [Mk. 3:29; Mt. 12:32; Lk. 12:10] There are no limits to the mercy of God, but anyone who deliberately refuses to accept his mercy by repenting, rejects the forgiveness of his sins and the salvation offered by the Holy Spirit. [John Paul II, DeV 46] Such hardness of heart can lead to final impenitence and eternal loss."

That's not even the unforgivable sin. Speaking blasphemy agaisnt the Holy Ghost is the unforgivable sin.

Luke 12:10
But unto him that blasphemeth against the Holy Ghost it shall not be forgiven.

Matthew 12:31-32
Wherefore I say unto you, All manner of sin and blasphemy shall be forgiven unto men: but the blasphemy against the Holy Ghost shall not be forgiven unto men. And whosoever speaketh a word against the Son of man, it shall be forgiven him: but whosoever speaketh against the Holy Ghost, it shall not be forgiven him, neither in this world, neither in the world to come.

Mark 3:29
But he that shall blaspheme against the Holy Ghost hath never forgiveness, but is in danger of eternal damnation.

That sounds pretty unforgivable. I think the unforgivable sin is the one where you should know better but you have malice, pride, arrogance, or greed in your heart anyways.

From the above, I am unable to discern what your question is. Please add more details. I would like to expound. There is only one unforgivable sin and that is blasphemy against the Holy Spirit.

The unforgivable sin IS not accepting the gospel! If you reject the son you reject God.
