I am a believer and I say NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! NEVER, NOT AT ANY TIME!!!!!!!!!!!!!! NOT EVER!!!!!!!!! Take that idea and stuff it back into Pandora's Box where you found it. That has been done before it was called the DARK AGES, and it was ruled by the Catholics and if your idea was ever to happen, it would once again be ruled by them! Is that what you want? To be ruled by a tyrannical religious body that controls the governments of this world and is answerable to no one, except to itself?

Look at history, when was the last time any church of any denomination was an instrument for peace anywhere?. I think the problem is not the number of faiths but the intolerance among all of them.
No faith can even make a good argument about the reality of the god each one believes, and yet each one claims to have the monopoly of god and the truth.
We should accept each faith as just a different path to the same end, this will do more to achieve peace than just one church. We're individual not peoples who are and think the same. Its OK to have a different view of God, to explain it and to accept it in a different way as long as it makes you a better person.
Someone said once that God did not create one twice but one and two instead, this is so because He loves diversity but hates monotony.
On the other hand, peace is a divine heritage within the human soul we all should strive to reach by transforming ours lowers emotions into something more constructive.
That day or era in the future when man looks inward and find his true self amd his God within, he will be at peace and will demand peace. This future creature will have no use for churches as we know them today.
What people call God is omnipresent, it can not be part of or sit still only in any particular churc, and it can not have preference for any particular individual or group of individuals, it can not choose to be only in one particular part of the universe. Simply put, God is all thing there is.
The first person in history who said in ancient Egipt about 1500 BC there is only one God, also said that man needs no middle men like a priest, a preacher or a church between him and his God, all he has to do is to look very hard wthin his own heart.

I'm a believer, and just so you know, there was a one world church. Back in the begining of Christianity. Then, time passed and certain people broke away and started their own churches. The word catholic means universal, and so there is a universal church in existence. Wherever you go in the world, the Catholic church never changes.

I don't think you can find a time in all of history where a church achieved peace. People have to achieve peace, not a church.
