okay, i'm in 6th grade and everyone's pestering me 2 go out with this kid in my class. what should i do? i don't know if i like him either. we tend to avoid each other as much as possible but he sits right behind me in class and we got to pick where we sat and i know that i was in my spot before he was. i need help the christmas dance is coming and i don't know if he'll ask me or not. he is pretty shy. help-plzzzzzz

you will know if you like him. it just sounds like you are desperate to go to the dance. dont let your friends pick you boyfriend. you have to put up with him not them.

ok when i was in 6th grade ,which was 2 years ago, i thought the same way as you. but i have been through alot more than a 8th grader should have and ill tell you now that you should just forget about guys until you are in your last years of highschool and on cuz guys r so much more immature than you know!
(unless you find a guy like me who you absolutle know for sure respects you and doesnt have his mind in the gudder 24/7) i have known him since 6th grade and we have been very very good friends. so just get to know the guy and remember , never do anything that you are not comfortable with!!!!! in situations like those you only need to think of yourself!

Well, if you don't know if you like this kid, then I think you need to hurry up and find out. Don't go out with him just because everyone else says you should. You might end up hurting his feelings if you go out with him and don't really like him. If he likes you, it would crush him if he found out the only reason you went to the dance with him is because everyone else told you so.

if you don't like him then don't go. however it sounds like you don't know him that well, perhaps you should try to get to know him then you might know how you feel. however realize that your in the sixth grade, things will change. I'm not saying you shouldn't explor dating relationships, just be carful how attached you get, because if things are the same as they were when I was in middle school, some relationships only last a day.

Well....are you embarrassed that everyone is teasing you? If so, most likely people are going to be teasing you for a while if you start to go out with him. Maybe your friends are jealous. If he does just say yes if you truly like him. if you dont want to start going out with people then wait. He will wait for you if he is truly the one! Good Luck and stay Calm!!

Don't worry about it...you've got another 5 yrs before you'll be ready to date...just have friends and enjoy being a kid while you can...once that's over, it's over for good.

just go out with him and be friends first. it's not like you have to marry him as soon as you go out. just be friends. it may not work out. you are to young to be thinking about anything else but having fun at that dance. if you want to go to the dance with him then ask him.

Go to the dance with him. Then see if you enjoy one anothers' company. If not...at least you've had your first dance.
It gets easier with boys. At least, that's what I've heard.
