and they have me on oxycodone for pain and it makes me itch real bad and I cant take a bath how do I calm this itch?

i dont think i can mix benedryl with my pain meds can I and a bath is out of the question

Try taking a benadryl. that is a side effect of the medication but they all have a side effect so try to live with it. On the contrary, I would take a bath with oatmeal and it should calm it down. Try taking a benadry or any antihistamine half an hour before the pain med and see if it helps. It may make you sleep but, that's ok. Call pharmacy in the morning and ask what they reccomend. Don't take oxycodone anymore, you could be allergic to it. There are other pain meds the doctor can give you. In the mean time, take some benadryl for the itching.

try benadryl and if you think you can manage your pain with acetaminophen (tylenol) try that instead as it has minimal side effects with recommended dosage. I would let your Dr know the reaction you are having, you need to have that in your chart for future reference.

well Maybe you are allergic to it since you itch.when I had surgery I ended up having a bad allergic reaction to it. Maybe you should call your Dr or pharmacist and explain this to them.Hope you feel better real soon take care
