I have SUPER THICK, CURLY hair that goes just below my shoulders. When I want to straighten it I use my Maxiglide. I absolutely love it! I just have to go over each section of hair once! When my hair is all done, it is really soft and shiny without putting any product in my hair before straightening. On the portion of the flatiron there are pins that pull the hair taught while straightening. This prevents curly hair from becoming a "hair patty" which is what you would see with other straighteners. There is also a built in steam feature that "irons" out kinks. You can buy one at Bed Bath and Beyond for $80. If your hair is not long and not really curly, it may not be worth the price tag but if you want a flatiron that works then go for it.

Never heard of Maxiglide. CHI is awesome, but expensive unless you're willing to pay that much. Check out a Sallys beauty store if you have one around, they have good straightners that dont cost you an arm and a leg. I wouldnt go for the ones at Walmart and places like that. I've had Hot tools, Jilbere, Helen of Troy, and Titanium Tools are some brands I can think of.

can't say i've ever heard of that one, but i'd get a ghd hair iron. also when straightening your hair, the slower you go, the straighter & smoother it will get. also make sure you use a heat protector when you use hot styling tools all the time. you should get a sample with your new straightening iron.
