It takes a lot of time, patience and effort on your part. I find that crate training is the best and easiest way to train your pet.

As soon as your puppy wakes up from a nap, take it immediately outside and let it pee. Praise her for a job well done. Expect her to poop soon after meal times too.

So keep your puppy crated all night, let her out to pee. Feed her breakfast and take her out again soon after she finishes. Take her outside every hour or two depending upon how old she is.

I never had too much luck with those housebreaking wee wee pads....my puppies always chewed them up to a confetti mess.

at three months a dog will have to be equipped to maintain its bladder for one million hour consistent with each and every month it's ancient. so three months=3hrs 5months=5hrs till one 12 months. Take it out proper after it eats and each and every half-hour to an hour. Puppies do not sniff for a place...they simply pass. Soon the dog will be taught in which to head and you're going to begin seeing a sniffing sample begin. This takes time a sufferers. Don't get mad on the dog. Its simply doing what it realize to do. If you get mad and by way of it external it's going to begin to feel that going out is a punishment, and now not "ask" to head out. You can use the paintings NO to startle the domestic dog however do not scold. What I have performed was once to hold a small Christmas bell down through the ground and while I take the domestic dog out I ask "You desire to head external" and simply earlier than I positioned her out...I rang the bell. Took approximately a month however now, while she has to head out she makes use of her nostril to ring the bell and I allow her out....it is lovely cool.

Keeping in mind that puppies can only hold for hours as about how many months old they are until they're about 8-10 months old.

You've got a couple of choices...listed in order by my choosen method.. crate training, pee pee pad, paper training.

Crate training..get a crate/kennel big enough for the pup to walk into turnaround and lie dog stretched out...save yourself money and invest in a good metal crate with a divider to allow for growth and you can use it for the lifetime of many dogs... Dogs by nature will not want to void in the small "den" like area created by a crate unless they have too much room that they can go in one corner and lie in the other, are sick, or just in there way too long and couldn't hold it anymore. So with a pup take them out of the crate every few hours during the night and walk them to where you want them to go, pick a command word and be consistent about where you show them to go and the command word...as they are going say the command word..as soon as they finish say the command word again and treat and give them lots of praise. Always the first thing after letting the dog out of the crate is to take them out to potty. Also, while the dog isn't in the crate, put a 5-6 foot leash to a body harness on the pup and tie it to your belt. That way if the dog starts to act like it needs to go you'll see it and make a dash for the potty area..command word and treat.

Pee pee pads and paper training are about the same except the difference being what they're being on. I haven't found that the pheramones included on pee pee pads or other attractants used to get dogs to pee on something in particular are helpful but I know others have. I do not recommend pee pee pads or paper training as you are telling the dog it is okay to pee in the house under special circumstances..and all the dog gets is it's okay to pee in the house. The even worse thing is paper training because than if the dog gets used to peeing on paper than how do you blame the dog for peeing on that mornings early edition??!

I have a 12 week old puppy and I take her out every two hours or right after she plays or eats she hasn't had many accidents but when she does I just tell her no and pick her up and bring her outside so she can associate where she's suppose to pee at, I know it will take time for her to get it, I pick up her water bowl around 6pm so she only gets up once during the nite and my hubby usually has to wake her to potty around 3am. I have never down those training papers and I would think it would be harder to get them to finally go outside to pee

Consistency, consistency, consistency!
Take your puppy out IMMEDIATELY after they wake up from a nap, IMMEDIATELY after they eat, and don't expect perfection. You can look into crate training if you are away from the house for a chunk of the day.

keep the puppy in the crates at night and when you let them out. always put them on the potty pad.. this will mentaly train them.. also after they do their business, reward them with treats, so it will be positive reinforcement. and then they will learn that when they do their business in the right spot they get treats and love/attention from you.

Don't expect too much too soon. A very young puppy doesn't have much control over when they "go". As it gets older take it outside frequently and praise him/her when they do it outside.

Put news paper down and let him pee on it and every week move the paper closer to the door and soon outside, but he needs to have his scent on something first before you can start training him to pee outside or in a certain area.
