why?....first you have to be called by GOD.....
They try to see if you really are......its hard work, lots of study-
like years and years I have done now.....and even now 9 certificates later!.....you can always learn some more.Make sure you are totally called by GOD...Not all are.o.k.
I had no say in the matter........at 40'something...it happened.No say in it at all....one door opened, i went thru...and another and another and still more!.......not by my choice I can tell you.
Would I do it again ....yes....So seek first GODS will for your life.

First step might be to go to seminary and become an Anglican priest. Then you can work your but off for years with grace and humility, not seeking to become a Bishop. Then, your peers will recognize your humility and service and may choose you to serve them as Bishop.
Basically, wanting it is a sure way not to get it. Centuries ago, the office of bishop may have been bought, but that is no longer the case.

its a progressive thing you can't just become a bishop, you need do certain studies and then they admit you as a probationary type position in which you assist with services etc., Then you must become a Deacon not really sure what this entatils , I've been to services where people have been made Deacon but not sure what study it enatails , after a Deacon you may become a priest , from a preist you must be elected to Bishop by your peers , so its quite possible but not exactly easy
