Charity begins at home, so to speak. We have to take care of our own before we can go on to others. That doesn't mean that we don't help non-Muslims. We generally just don't go out of our way to do it.

I think you might just be focusing too much on on what you want rather then what happens, I personally give to 5 charities monthly so not including those one off payments every once in a while and only one of those charities is a muslim charity and I only donate to that one because I have seen results come from that one, and not just for the muslim but from the whole community that the money is spent in.
I think rather then wondering what faith a charity follows you should see the output that they achieve and how they spend their money.
Just saying muslims give to muslim charities is quite racist considering that many things could be said about the Chritian charities which seem to impose their faith on the people they claim to help and the Jewish charities only seem to help Jewish people only alongside all those investments which help fund them further.
So if you want a race war then you've opened a far bigger can of worms then you can handle. The only people that I could truly say don't care which faith their money goes towards is most likely Red Cross and Red Crescent.

To say British Muslims never give to British charities would be wrong. I am sure they give it but to a lesser extent such as 10-20%. There are several reasons for this, lets not forget that Britain is already a rich country. Yes there are poor people in Britain also but then again nobody is dying of hunger. Most of the money should go where the 'real' need is and that is in poor countries.

That's true to a certain extent, but not all Muslims are the same. I give money to British charities and people collecting money for charities in public. To me all people are the same, Muslim or non Muslim. its about being open minded and Muslims generally are not very open minded. I'm a Muslim myself.

I think they do, as some Christians care only to do with Christians. There are Christian Charities and Christian causes, Jewish Charities and causes. So it follows logic that Muslims would do the same, and just maybe take it to the extreme.
Loads of extreme people these days, and not merely Muslim people!

I do not class myself as a christian but I don't see why they would want to help anyone other than themselves. Infidels mean nothing to them. They do not even class telling an untruth to a non Muslim as lying. I certainly would not give to a Muslim charity as the funds find their way into terrorist organisations.

This is not a nice generalization. I thing that the main thin is that people help each other. Why do not you start your own thing? To make sure that British Muslims get help too. : )

the Muslim community here in the US helped the Katrina victims with money and food.
some Muslims went to New Orleans and supported the victims any way they could.

i agree, i've noticed it too, but that can go for christians too, they're biased, they're going to help a muslim or christian before they think to helo a hindu or atheist, it's not a racist statement, just an observation

Its pretty much true. A friend of mine was best friends with a muslim and his family would invite all his other friends to have dinner with them but his best friend was never welcome to eat with them simply because he wasnt muslim. The other friends were of course.
