If there were no prisons, what would our world be like? If there were no penalties for rape, murder, theft, or any other form of fear to keep people in line, how would our world be different from what it is today?
I've seen this too many time. Give the child everything it wants, and it will be so grateful, that it will behave it self.
WRONG! They expect everyone to give it what it wants, and it will throw tantrums until they do. And what day, that kid is going to throw a tantrum at the wrong person and really get hurt.
Teach the child fear and respect now, before it ends up on the back of a milk carton or in prison....or worse.

in case you spare the rod, meaning self-discipline, you'll ruin the youngster and they received't study. I believe between the previous posts that it really is what's incorrect with quite some youngsters on the instant. Their moms and dads did not make an attempt at the same time as they grew as a lot as tutor them the right thanks to act. quite some them are impolite, obnoxious, violent, and hateful. you spot quite some older human beings on the instant that grew up interior the 1920's, 30's, 40's, 50's and 60's knew a thanks to act. They knew their moves had severe effects. with the point to spare the rod is to ruin the youngster.

If you spare the rod, you are spoiling the child.
Sometimes discipline dictates a spanking. The only thing with this rule is that some people have been known to go overboard; hence why there is abuse...so....???

Probably a little too authoritarian - I'm not necessarily against smacking children should they deserve it or to get their attention but there is such a fine line between a reasonable, decent parent smacking it's child and a lunatic beating it's kid's face to a pulp. Finding the correct balance is difficult... that said all this crap about talking through issues with children is politically-correct rubbish. How exactly does one sit down and have a reasonable conversation with a howling 2 year old intent on throwing a tantrum. I guess somewhere there has to be a moderating line...

Failure to use the rod of discipline allows the child to become spoiled and manipulative.
However, have said that, there is a huge difference between punishment (which is punitive by nature) and discipline, which is a teaching tool.

Well look at our society. Parents are not even allowed to spank their children for being bad. So most kids don't even know right and wrong these days. I don't believe it is good. Spoil mean not good. So if you don't mind that your child will not be good if you do that. That is not love. Love means discipline and sometimes someone needs a good spanking. (Not beating)

I know plenty of spoilt jerks that were flogged. Spoilt is when you do not appreciate what is given to you or what you have. You can give a hundred toys to one child and he'll cherish them all. You can one toy to another and he'll smash it. Think about it - all those people out there who expect to get their own way and the hell to pay if they don't get it! That is spoilt. And I'm talking 50 and 60 year old people.

There are other ways of getting through to your child (at times). But sometimes you just have to bite the bullet and spank them. I hate spanking my daughter, but there are times that, unless I show her I'm serious, she will just continue to ignore me. I either pop her with my hand or with a wooden spoon- usually all it takes is for me to show her the spoon and she straightens up. I never believed my parents when they gave me the "It hurts me more than it hurts you". Now, I understand what they meant.

The hands are for loving the rod or spoon or paddle is for disaplin. Don't spnak with your hands, if you must spank, then take the rod with you if yo have to carry it in the diaper bag or in the purse. Spank in the bathroom or a private room. Try to spank when you are not angry. I know easier said then done. explain what they have done. Why you are doing it and then have them ask you for forgiveness and then ask Jesus for forgiveness (lead them in prayer). Give them a hug and tell them you still love them,
