Maybe. My mom is taking it and it has definately helped hers. Also, she can focus much better now.

She noticed a change ater 3 weeks and it is still improving at 8 weeks.

I have anxiety/panic disorder and I am on 20mg of lexapro.
I started at 5mg and went to 30mg now I am at 20mg.
It was hard at 1st and I still had a lot of anxiety, it took a while for me to really feel better. It also made me very tired and I did vomit for the first few days.

The side effects did pass and weren't that bad. It was worth it to feel better.

I have been on it now for almost 2 years. I also take klonopin at night because I would wake up with panic attacks.

I find the combination to be a great one.

Good Luck to you!!!

Lexapro is an SSRI medication, meaning it supplies you with seratonin -- the chemical in the brain which helps battle anxiety. However, SSRIs work differently for different people. I have many friends who have found Lexapro very helpful and essential to managing their anxiety. For me, however, Lexapro did not help and simply made me nauseated. Give it a chance, see if it works for you.
