Depends on the airline company. It used to be an FAA rule that all passengers had to wear shoes, however that rule is now gone and all their website now says about footwear is that they *recommend* low-heeled, leather or canvas shoes, but you are allowed to ignore that recommendation and fly with flipflops, sandals, high heels or bare feet as far as the FAA is concerned. Some airline companies still carry a footwear rule, others do not. Especially foreign companies rarely have footwear rules; outside the US (even in other Western countries) footwear rules are rare in any branch or business.
I wrote an entire webpage on barefoot safety vs the risks on planes, please take a look at the url below.

The standards of dress on commercial flights is pretty low, but not THAT low! I remember a few years ago I read about a couple who weren't allowed to get on a plane cuz they were both wearing track suits (nice new ones). Strange but true! These days you see everything but bare feet.

The new flight wardrobe you are considering might not necessarily keep security happy. They will see it as a blatant challenge to their ability to ensure security. What they likely will do to you next to make sure you are not hiding anything WILL make you wish you keep your old wardrobe. Think about it.
(Bring tears to my eyes just thinking about it - LOL)

I wouldn't recommend it. I always wear comfortable, closed-toe, slip-on (not lace-up) shoes to fly. If you are in a crash, could you imagine trying to evacuate through all the debris, fire, etc in bare feet or flip-flops? Wear some shoes that you can walk for long distances in; remove them for security, pick them up after the x-ray machine and step away from the line to put them back on at your own pace, without worrying about delaying travellers behind you.

I am sorry you cannot go bare foot on a flight. You are required to wear some form of footwear, for your fellow passengers wellbeing as well as your own.

I doubt that they would allow you on a plane barefoot. Once you are in your seat, however, you can take your shoes off (at least most people I know do.)

It shows a complete lack of class.
Which is becoming the norm in air travel. Thank god I fly first/business.
No need to deal with that.
