When muslims flail themselves it shows how much they really hate themselves. They are sick and to be pitied, but we must defend our civilization from them. Look at what they do to themselves. What would they do to us if given the chance?

I remember reading in the Hebrew scriptures about this ancient religion that would cut themselves to get God's approval.
They beat themselves and did other horrible tortureous things.
To gain God's approval. But they didn't think it was ezekiel?
He poured water over the sacrifice and drenched it and then prayed and God answered his prayer.
Forgot about it, when you get in the middle east they still have these false religions where they multilate little girls privates.
Female circumcism. They beat there selves sometimes until they die to get God's approval. They burry ones in the sand with just their heads out and then the others throw rocks at their heads until they die. There religion is so far from ours that Western civilization cannot understand it. By doing the suffering in this life they prevent or lessen the suffering in the next life.
They do take chains with pieces of metal in it to pound and cut the flesh. Then beat there selves repeatedly with it.
This is to get God's approval. If you really knew, that is just the tip of the ice burg. You cannot imagine how they think or reason.

Flailing? Is that "wailing", or is that a term which you mean in regards to "corporal mortification" ?. I will presume you mean corporal mortification for this discussion; answer.

Penance and mortification is good, it is good for the soul and body. There are those that believe in partaking in their spiritual nature, while still being human. The human side of may not like penance and mortification, but our spiritual side knows that it helps the body of Christ as a whole and their own bodies to cleanse of previous sin.

While it can be meritorious, severe penance and mortification is not required by any church during any season. (Nor, do I believe, has it ever been) It is my understanding that even the saints of the Catholic church who wished to inflict severe penance and mortification on themselves for some spiritual or temporal good, required some permission from there superiors on the issue.

Each of those people that do indeed under their own free will and with the guidance of a knowing priest/pastor who is watching over this all should work out.

Again, this is NOT REQUIRED. In fact it is rarely heard of or done now or even during more 'ancient' times.

God gives everyone free will. Just like a father in this world to a child. He tells the child don't touch fire because it will burn. But the child is stubborn so he touches and gets burned. You can't blame the father he warned him. This causing injury to the body is not sanctioned in any way by God. It is a man made idea and is demoniac according to the Bhagabad-Gita As it is By Bhaktivedanta Prabhupada

Ah, I've seen this. It's a form of gratitude.

No, of course God does not want people to beat them selves to death. But some people, in a show of faith and gratitude, will whip them selves. Sort of an " Offering of pain "

Jesus went through hell to pave the road of salvation for us. So, these guys say " Thank you " by choosing to share in the pain.

Best wishes.
