My daughter is now 2 going on 3 and she isnt talking yet. She has some words she'll say here and there but no attempts of partial sentences...Should I be worried?

I would speak to a paediatrician regarding this. I think sometimes it can be completely normal, but you also have to consider the possibility of autism or asperger's syndrome. Other symptoms of both of these conditions are: a reduction in social interaction, extreme need for routine and when routine is broken child has powerful tantrums, repetitive behaviour (rocking, tapping, stacking blocks for hours etc...)
I understand your concern. I'm a mother of two children under 3 and worry constantly about their development. I hope all is well!

Tell you I would take her in for an evaluation. My daughter at 18 months was having a hard time with her speech. We got a hearing test and all that done. Found out she had trouples with her ears had surgery and is know in kindergarden and doing great. She has to take speech classes but has made a great deal of improvement in the last few months again after having her tonsils and adnoids out. Get her tested because she should be talking more at two. If she isn't hearing right she won't speak right. good luck to you and your daughter.

Hun i have to say i have been there and got the t-shirt ..my twin son Thomas was diagnosed with severe autism at aged 3 and a half, h ei nine now and still non verbal and still in nappies, autism if your child has it is nothing to be scared of like you i was overwhelmed when they first told us Thomas has autism but you cope with it you have too, the first thing we noticed was his lack of interest in interacting with his twin sister or us, at two Thomas wasn't saying anything at all and rocking in the chair i have seen a lot of children do this that do not have autism, Thomas wouldn't respond to his name at all i used to have to stand in front of him and tap him, Your child will be asset by the relevant people depending where you are from, when we were going through this our local hospital sent for us for a six week assessment, we had the results within three ..i have added a link i have made about my son on YOUTUBE feel free to take a look x

You might want to get her hearing checked. I wouldn't freak out though. If she has been going to regular checkups and the doctor hasn't noticed anything wrong than I'm sure she is fine. Some kids learn more physical things and put the other stuff on the back burner.....

Better have her checked for Autism. Your kid is in real trouble. Get help now. Get her in a special school or she will be handicapped for the rest of her life. Don't listen to those idiots that sat not to worry because children mature at different rates. I have a friend with the same problem and her son is doing much better at a special school. Do it now!

Hi! You should probably talk to your doctor about your concern. However, I didn't talk at all until I was two and now I teach French and Spanish and know a little Italian as well - children do things when their minds and bodies are ready. :)

It may be normal, but if it is really bothering you,the best thing you can do is ask your doctor for the name of an organization that tests young children. It may be perfectly normal and she will "catch up" as many will tell you,but if there really is a problem, you will blame yourself later on.It never hurts to be cautious and at best they will tell you not to worry, everything's fine and at worst if there is an issue she will get the help she needs.A win win situation!Good luck!

Maybe...Go get her hearing tested, talk to a doctor, she could be autistic. My older brother didn't talk until he was 4 or 5 and he's a doctor now, so it also could be delayed. Just talk to a doctor about your concerns and they'll help you out!

Good Luck!

That is a little weird. My daughter will be 3 in march and she talks in whole paragraphs.
