my nephew started getting headaches when he was about 3 years old. we didn't realize it at the time but eventually it was more evident (when he was more vocal). at 10 years old, he still suffers from them and actually vomits when he has them (i guess they are more like migraines.) the doctor has told my sister that they are genetic since his father also suffers from them but I believe that it could have to do with the food he eats, if he gets over excited, if he doesn't eat on time and if he's overtired. it's heartbreaking but at least now, he knows when one is starting and can tell someone.

If she is 6 and has chronic headaches, she needs to go to a headache specialist. I don't think a 6 year old's should have chronic headaches. I would think there would be a problem some where.

Keep a record of everything they eat. It could be migraines due to something they eat. My cousin has had headaches since he was three only to find out that when he eats hotdogs with ketchup and mustard they trigger migraines, he can eat them with one or the other but not both. weird! He can also eat processed cheese but not brick cheese. When the child complains about a headache look at what they ate that day and eliminate one of those items for a week if they complain elminate a different item. Until you find what triggers them. It can be more than one item. ~~~Good Luck~~~

No, I think it is not normal at all . You should consult a doctor.
Headache is a pain in the head, scalp or neck. Headaches can be
caused by minor problems like eyestrain, lack of coffee or more
serious reasons like head injury, brain tumors, encephalitis and
meningitis. Taking painkillers continuously can have harmful side
effects, so it is better to modify your lifestyle. More information

Headaches are usually a sign of an underlying cause. If he is typically well hydrated, I would get him checked. In fact take him to a chiropractor. Trust me!

No, it's not normal at all. Could be any number of things, from something trivial to something extremely serious and/or fatal. Get him or her to a doctor ASAP! Make the appointment first thing tomorrow morning! Good luck!

My son had this problem when he was approx. 7-8 years old. I had his eyes checked, took him to the pediatrician and our family doctor but to no avail. Finally, took him to see an EENT and he did a T&A (tonsil/adenoid surgery) and this took care of his problem. BUT as someone else has already answered, only your physician can examine, diagnose, and treat. Needs to be worked up by your family doctor and he will refer you elsewhere if needed.

That's not usually normal. It is possible that he could be having migraines, some kids do get them. It could also be because of his vision. Has he complained about it at all? Either, way, You should take him to his doctor to know for sure. Good Luck

talk to a medical professional. You won't get the answers you need here because no one here can physically see your son to diagnose him (nor should we, since we are not MDs). There could be many reasons, but his pediatrician would be the best person to ask.
