The impressions (molds) are not painful and the alginate can come in flavors. Even if it is not flavored, it's not that bad and it doesn't take that long. The spacers will feel like you have something stuck between your teeth, and you will feel some pressure. It's nothing to worry about and the end result will be well worth it. Once your braces are on, do be sure to brush often and floss every day. this will help keep your gums healthy.

They might mold but spacers dont hurt after the first two days or so. Spacer are just little rubber bands to create space in between your teeth.

Braces are bad, but they only really hurt when they've just been tightened, and your mouth and brain are knowing what to expect. The spacers are the agony; they just look like a nice little rubber band, but when they are in, boy, do they kill!
The mold stuff is a bit gross, but it's soon out, and it's not heave-worthy; the sensation is worse than that actual taste. Just remember to breathe; you'll be fine.
That Dr. that wrote all in capitols above me has obviously not had braces himself, even if he has used all this stuff in 'daily practice'!

Spacers don't hurt, just annoying. It feels like something is stuck in your teeth constantly! The molds aren't so bad either. They are using new stuff that is gel instead of chalk. It makes you gag a little because they place it all the way to the back but that's it. Good Luck and Don't Worry....It isn't that bad! People just like to exaggerate...allot!

Well the mold isn't bad... I'd worry about the spacers. They hurt more than braces. So get ready for a little pain...

Spacers, or separators as they are rightfully called, only start to hurt about a half to one day later, when the teeth start to move apart. Molds, or impressions, don't hurt.

Molds are gross, but they don't hurt. Yep. They taste and smell horrible. But it just takes a second.
Spacers may hurt for just a second. After that, they may be irritating, just until you get used to having them in your mouth.
That's it. It's nothing really. Don't worry about it.

TASTE-it's not that bad, some even do have flavors to ease the anxiety of having something new in the mouth; PAIN- there's some as there will be movement in the teeth, but it'll be worth it am sure. GOOD LUCK! GO FOR IT!

Not that I remember, but dang, spacers are annoying. You have a constant feeling that some food is stuck between your teeth, and it personally annoyed the H-E-double bendy straws out of me.
