Everyday I read about a scientist, researcher, or doctor discovering forms of life, species, galaxies, ect they've never known about. Also, all forms of life such as animals, insects, people, ect is created with exact precision and purpose, from our eyebrows and ears, to gravity, seasons, or just the migration of birds. There is no way all of this could have just came about by chance. There had to have been a designer of it all with wisdom, imagination, and power. A God. I can understand people who do not subscribe to a specific religion, but how can anyone deny there is not a creator of some sort? This is a serious question. If you believe in God tell me why, if you don't please tell me why, and how you explain everything around us. Thanks

I really would like to hear from someone who does NOT believe in God, who can offer reasons why they feel that way, other than stating the world has been around a long time and anything can happen with time. If that is the only reason for NOT believing in God, I just don't understand, and I'm very open minded, and want to hear both sides of the coin.

Odindmar everything you've mentioned is something that came about from things that already existed. Car accidents, are caused from people in cars, a monkey on a laptop...a laptop was invented by man, from resources in the world. That does not explain how creation came about from NOTHING. Wouldn't there have to be a power greater than anything we can imagine?

It's simple, I don't explain everything around us. I make an effort to try to understand all that I can but I do not have the answers, no one does. I couldn't just pretend I knew. How do you gather the gumption to presume a creator?

Edit: I am someone who "does NOT" believe in God. I do not deny the small possibility that a creator exists, sure it's possible. But that does not make sense to me. It seems more likely that people fear what they do not understand and want a God to make their fears go away. You make the claim that a creator must exist with all the wisdom and precision in the universe. But wisdom and precision are just concepts. We are merely animals gaining a usable understanding of our world. Just because we are unable to explain something does not require a god to exist.
I don't see things that necessitate a creator. When someone says a creator must exist I can't help but think that they want one too. I think their need for a creator is blocking the ability to really consider it. I believe that religions started as a way to control people. Voltaire said "The first clergyman was the first rascal who met the first fool." And this idea makes sense to me. In the ocean the big fish eat the little fish you know, and I think all life on earth is about the same. Religion was invented for the clever men to take advantage of the masses.

I believe that the universe has always existed, and that maybe there is no reason. If it did have a beginning that wouldn't necessitate a creator either. I couldn't know, and it would be dishonest to pretend to. This is honestly what I think, maybe it's wrong. I would really like to argue it. So if something I said is false e-mail me. I would really like to discuss it. One of us is wrong.

If you hand a monkey a lap top, he will eventually pound out the works of Shakespear. The universe has been around for a long time. a VERY long time. it is possible that through a series of coincidences, that life came to be.

How many people that have been in car wreck describe it as an accident? A fluke of nature. An unforeseeable thing. From that point, you life is changed. Insurance rates go up. Mechanic bills and Doctor bills need to be paid. That was over the course of a few seconds. This few seconds of " Accident " will affect you for the rest of your life in one way or another.

Now let's take this logic over the course of a few trillion years. A few gasses get together. Get cooked by a sun. A few more get together..... you get the idea. The rational here is fairly sound.

Of course, it doesn't answer how it all started..... Best wishes.

There does not have to be a creator. We don't know if time is Finite or Infinite. If it is infinite then all things can happen by chance. % Possibility * INFINITE time = 100% chance for anything to happen. I would argue that a intelligence being would/could speed up and increase the possibility of something to occur. I am agnostic, I believe its possible that a god exists, but I have not been given the proper evidence that one exists.

Again with the stupid assumption that the big bang and evolution are based on chance. Maybe a bit more research would help you.

We are creatures of light before we are creature of flesh.
All is analogy.
To understand our world, all that is in it, fills us with wonder.
The ingenuity of our minds are limited by our finiteness.
To say everyday: "I believe in all that is seen and unseen" is the most marvelous statement that man can make.
