Hopefully it will tone down in a few days. but I believe blue/purple are common undertones in black hair so it would make sense that it turned blonde hair purple. That's what you get for trying to dye hair yourself. You should ALWAYS go to a professional, especially when it's a drastic change! If it doesn't wash out, don't try to fix it yourself, you are only going to make it worse. Go to a reputable colorist (not something cheap like supercuts.)

all hair dye has a "base" color. obviously you chose one with a violet tone. all you need to do it mix 1/2 water to 1/2 baking soda and make a paste. apply it on your hair and wait about 15 minutes. rinse, wash, and condition.this will get some of the dye out of your hair.you can do this more than one time if the result is not as you desired. next, you'll want to choose another semi-permanent color that has a gold base in it. you can find this information on the side or back of the box usually. since it has not peroxide in it, it will not lift the black color, only changing the tone.. this is what you need to do. no, doing it again will not harm your hair. it is a deposit only color therefor only changing the tone without peroxide. peroxide will lift the color one to two shades. hope this helps.

Sounds cool actually. But hey, next time, remember that the lighter parts will come out lighter, so either start with those parts when you're dyeing your hair, or leave the dye on longer on those parts. Also, make sure you get enough dye to cover ALL your hair thoroughly. It's better to buy 2 boxes than to end up with an awful looking dye job. Happy dyeing!
