*sigh* My black lab that I rescued seems to have problem after problem after problem... First, it was hot spots. I kept her in for a few weeks, and now they're nicely healed up... Then, her ears kept getting red every now and then, and a lot of red gunk would build up in them in a matter of days... That's pretty much settled. I hope it doesn't come back, but /now/ she has these weird bumps on the outside of her mouth. There's maybe 7 or so big and small bumps on her chin and around her mouth on the flaps of her mouth (lips?) They look like warts sorta or something, but they've just been getting worse. I first noticed a couple about 2 months ago, but now there's more. What could it be?

First off,,thank you for rescueing your sweet lab,,very fine dogs,,Hot spots come from itching,,they sell spray for that & also I just found some hot spot wipes that are very simple to use,,its just a relief so the spot can heal. Dogs sometimes get the ear trouble either from ear mites but usually its because the dog has narrow ear canals that cannot get enough air in them to dry up,,usually found in floppy eared dogs. There are drops for that reasonably priced at your vet & if the wax is dark brown in color. There is also a drop cleaning solution.Ask your vet how to clean ears properly.I think that the bumps are just from irritation from scratching the hot spots. You may use A&D ointment on that if you wish.Good Luck. You own a great dog ;O)

That could be so many things --- from allergic reaction (benedryl is okay for that 1 mg per pound) to an abscess to a tumor. Could also be from a bad tooth. You said you need help with her, and the very best place to get that help is from your veterinarian. Any of the things on the list of "could-be" would be enough for a vet to look at. Please call in the morning and get her in ---- the holiday weekend will find some vets closed. Need to go ahead and make the time to do that. She's given you 10 years of total love and devotion and deserves the best. vet tech

I dont know your climate . could be allergy to bee sting also our retriever had constant ear problems which is known for in the sporting dogs.the ears need air to help heal. we actually pinned our dogs ears up with a clip a hour or so a day just to get air to them.I think your dog has allergies. if outside she is very sensitive to something she is in contact with. call your vet and see if he can give u some allergy pills.they do make them pee alot so ask what side effects there are on allergie meds or any cortizone stuff

You need to clean the dogs water and food bowl and make sure you use a metal bowl they tend to not keep bacteria as much as the plastic bowls.

That's weird. Take her to the vet ASAP! She may need serious medical treatment! This is very very urgent!
