I have been teaching my daughter sign language since she was an infant, and am now doing a research paper for a class on it. Finding research on the subject has been difficult, and I live in a small town with a super-small library (no help there). I would love to find out more information. Any good books, wesites or other information would be great!

We taught both of our sons sing language. It was wonderful! I always give Baby Signs as a shower gift. They had a web site 7 years ago. Good luck.

Good for you, teaching sign to your baby! I also taught it to my son and use it daily with my infants and toddlers at school...It really does help them communicate when they are non-verbal and they pick it up so quickly! Here are a few cool sites:

You can ask your local school's speech therapist, or inquire at your local mental health agency. They would be able to direct you to some professionals that may offer you assistance.

ask a speech therapist, they use it to teach small children with speech problems at an early age so they're understood until they can speek.
