You should really use a degaussing coil; it is the only effective way to remove all magnetism. The degaussing coil uses AC which if properly done completely demagnetizes. The DC from a permanent magnet cannot completely eliminate magnetism. Your TV has a built-in degaussing coil that operates every time you turn the TV on; but a manual degaussing is better. Call a service techinician and have it done properly.

Hello, Yes you can. If you get a high powered magnet like a car stereo subwoofer or something and turn the tv on. Start in the very center of the tv with the magnet in your hands and start rotating the magnet in front of the TV in small circles then start moving it faster as you make the circles bigger and moving farther away from the tv then as the picture looks like it's getting pretty good, pull away from the tv completely. If it doesn't work the first time, don't worry. You can do it over and over until you get it right. Also you can't really make it worse, so keep trying until you get it right.
