No some children are born with one. you can actually get one any age.A hernia is when the muscles holding the intestines up break or come lose or are steretched. This allows the intestines to fall down soemtimes filling up your sack around your balls.
You can do it in an accident or while picking up heavy loads.(which is the most common) or by jumping off of a height and landing hard on your feet.
Most guys I've known with hernia were in their 20s to early 30s.
Any one who thinks he has a hernia should be checked because sometimes the hernioa is due to a diseasesuch as cancer which has eaten away the supports which holds the intestines . Or they have an intestinal disease which weakens the supporting muscle.

You can get a hernia by lifting something too heavy in an incorrect manner. Straining too hard to go to the bathroom. Or sometimes it just happens. Have your doctor take a look if this is a problem.
