It depends on what the doctor recommends after you are evaluated for your anxiety. Ask questions about any meds you are given and if something is not working or you don't like a side effect it has be sure to discuss that with the doctor.
He may not give you a medication. If he does it could be any number of things depending on what the doctor believes would help you the most. I wouldn't worry about it until you see the doctor and tell him any worries you have then and ask any question you can think of about the drug the doctor recommends. GL with your appt.

I am 40 years old and have the same problem. I have taken the generic brand of Zoloft for quite some time and it works for me. I started out at 50 mil. but moved up to 100 mil.and that seems to be helping. Sometimes I get break through anxiety and have been prescribed Zantax for those times. Hope this helps.

xanax is one of the most common. But there are several different ones available. It also depends on your anxiety. What works for one doesn't always work for another. There is paxil, zoloft, celexa, lexapro, prozac, just to name a few. Also, it may take a few different ones until you find out which one works best for you. Hope that helped.

Xanax is the best. However it is very Addicted. Start off taking 0.5 mg. and then go to 1mg. If you have trouble sleeping get ambien.
