i want to just play my folk guitar with me singing and then use the other stuff that it says it has on it. i have a pc mic!
but when i look at the menu i dont know what to do. help=ineed somebody=help not just any body=help=you know i need someone=help

Hmm.. well, you have a small question and a BIG question in there.. and, well, you don't even mention what version of Cakewalk you have so I'm a little remiss.

Anyways, I can at least offer a couple of clues (I don't have that any version of Cakewalk installed anymore):

1. In most any windows program, "F1" will open the "Help" section. Of course, you'd want to check the specific documentation on "recording".

2. There's some tutorials online (again, differs depending on the version). I see one here: http://spider.georgetowncollege.edu/music/burnette/Mus319/cakewalktutorial.htm with some pictures; that might help.

P.S. in the version I used to have (I think 9), Cakewalk didn't save to a wave file or kind of file you could burn on a cd and play back in a cd player. Instead, it kinda was like a "live" app which was designed for performance. I hope you have a different version that has a export to wave and/or cd feature.
