Good question sir! Both fighters are tough as nails and good punchers too. I believe that Hagler would use his jab to set up combinations against Hopkins who would hold his own against Hagler. Hopkins would win some rounds and give Hagler a heckuva battle but Hagler would prevail by decision victory.

HOPKINS - W 47 (KO's 31) TF 53 - W pct 87% - KO pct 59% - wins over Del La Hoya, Trinidad and W. Joppy - KO'ed by none - #50 ranked fighter
Titles at 160 and 175
In 2005 ranked #1 current pound for pound fighters

HAGLER - W 62 (KO's 51) TF 67 - W pct 93% - KO pct 76% - wins over Minter, Hamsho[2], Briscoe, Seales, Duran, Mugabi and Hearns - KO'ed by none - #35 ranked puncher, #17 ranked fighter

THE FIGHT
Has Hagler learned the following lessons:
Not give too much respect to his opponent as he did in the Duran fight.
Don't give away early rds by not fighting enough/switching stances
Don't let your opponent steal rds by fighting/flurrying in the last minute of a rd

Who fought the better fighters/punchers? Can Hopkins withstand Hagler's pressure/power? Can Hopkins outbox/outpoint/outsmart Hagler?
Hagler has beaten boxers tough/dirty as Hopkins - Autuofermo, Briscoe, Duran, Hamsho and Mugabi

In this bout, we have Hagler by a unanimous decision. This fight was not as close as the public thought it would be. Hopkins did not press the fight but Hagler did.

This would be a superb fight, Hagler is my favourite boxer of alltime and B-hop is right up there as well for me, i see Hagler winning the fight on a razor thin decision, i cant see Hopkins going to war with Hagler as it would result in a KO, remember anyone who went toe to toe with Hagler got destroyed, i see Hopkins going defensive as he has so many times before, the early rounds would all be taken by Hagler as he would be outworking Bernard but i think as Hagler started to tire Hopkins would start to take control probably around the 6th or 7th, then i see a final flourish from the Marvelous one in the last couple of rounds which just gives him the edge on the judges scorecard. Great question.

Hagler, he fought and beat fighters from Philadelphia, who were every bit as ruthless and dirty, tougher men as well.
