If he's just off of formula, try mixing a few scoops of formula with it (as you would with a regular bottle, usually 1 scoop to 2 ounces of water). Also, if you're getting him used to a sippy cup, he's probably going to do that because he's not used to it. If you changed from bottles that may be part of the problem. My last suggestion would be to warm it up a bit before you give it to him (place the cup/bottle in a cup of hot water until it's warmed up). Good luck!

I had this problem too. Babies, until age 2, need whole milk for their bones and teeth as they are still rapidly growing at this age. Don't just give your son 2% or 1%. They need the extra fat and calories!
You could try what I did....slowly wean to milk. Add half milk and half formula or breast milk to a bottle. Then, when your little guy accepts that do 3/4 whole milk to 1/4 formula or breast milk and then just whole milk. This worked for me as my daughter, too, af 12 months wouldn't just drink milk. I think it was too much of a change....going from formula to just milk. Good Luck!

Yeah I'd do half formula and half milk. My son too hated giving up his formula straight to milk so this is what we did. I know formula is exspensive but think of it as providing him with the vitimins he needs just a little long. Certainly it wont hurt anything. When he becomes closer to 2 and is still not taking whole milk i'd result to the adding choc or strawberry to the mix.

Mix the milk with his formula a little bit at a time...
Increasing the amount of milk each day. If you can warm the whole milk a enough to take the chill off of it. It took my girls about 2 months to fully accpet whole milk.

Try vanilla flavored Soy milk. It's so much better for kids than whole milk anyway. I like milk, but with all the junk in it these days, I'd rather my son have something more nutritious. Plus, with the vanilla flavor, he should still like whole milk---you how if you give a kid chocolate milk then they never want white milk again---i don't think it's as big a deal to go from vanilla soy to whole milk since it's not quite as sweet tasting as chocolate milk.

try mixing it with formula and slowly adding less or a little bit of chocolate powder or syrup.
Don't listen to the people saying give him 1% or 2% milk, there is a reason children need WHOLE milk it has more proteins and fats in it that small children need, plus it has been linked to rickets. Soy milk should only be given to children who have allergies to milk.

Wait a couple weeks and try again, you can give him water and watered down juice too.. so wait a lil while give him the formula again, he'll probably be wanting the milk back after you give him formula.

I have just "weaned" my son off of formula and bottle by mixing the formula with milk and every week reducing the formula by 2oz and adding more milk. (my son was on soy formula and i switched to cows milk)

I never did either, my Dad always had to add some flavor to it, and he would always act like he was making this big, huge mess and the containers were always heavy. It got me laughing and I drank the flavored milk... now I do it for my kids.
(Vanilla, Strawberry, or Chocolate)
Or you could get like 2% and mix Ovaltine in it and it will give him all the nutrients he needs.

Sounds like a normal 1 year old to me. They do that.. a LOT!! Try adding chocolate or strawberry syrup once in a while to it. Keep offering the whole milk to him and he'll eventually start drinking it again.
