What month does an employer usually give you your W2?

They have to be mailed by 31 January of every year.

Some really large corporations, and government agencies will have them electronically. Those would be available sometime in the 3rd week......

Legally they must be postmarked by January 31st but I've seen some employers who are lax about it and never seem to suffer any repercussions because of it.

W2's MUST be postmarked by January 31st.
