I know lamas are important animals in Peru, but seriously, why does everyone always ask "Como se lama"? I don't understand...

In Perú llama is an animal, but in spanish "llama" is What is your "name"? and it is pronounce like "yes"

Besides, there's the "lama" the Buddhist priest, like the Dalai Lama, and a native Spanish speaker would say "l-a-m-a".
Why do you find it so difficult being at peace with a language so rich? Moreover, a Spanish speaker would never pronunce "llama" as "lama."

it is not lama but llama and you pronounced with y like in yes
yama.

Cómo se llama? What is it called? is something else.

it's llama and it has two meanings. "Como se llama" means "what's it called"
