...you sit, talk, and get to know each other. Hopefully during the conversation, you'll become comfortable enough to ask, which is a good sign, because it usually means ya'll have hit it off.
Otherwise, if she is taken, and you're conversating, and she really likes the guy, or really doesn't like you, she'll let you know without asking. Which is good because ya'll wouldn't have hit it off anyway.
AND if she taken, doesn't tell you or lies... you need to cut her off anyway. Unless you're into that sort of thing.

First make some small talk. Then ask her if she's single. Don't ask her if she has a b/f because most girls will say "yeah". So just ask her if she's single or "what's your relationship situation?".
But I only ask AFTER I've built up the attraction. Don't ask until there are some indications of interest from her.

um well if ur planing to meet a date in a store, chances are if she's looking in the men's section of the clothes... she's taken. Another way is to just ask they really don't mind trust me I'm a girl! :-)

look her up on myspace, then check out her relationship status! that's what I do all the time with cute guys haha. of course i'm assuming that every person in the entire freakin world has one now. If she doesn't then ask a mutual friend.

4. If she teases you, then walks away, making you follow her and you see her walking towards her boyfriend and kissing him.

Well if you see her by herself most of the time she's probably taken and also if you see her on the phone most of the time...i mean who else can she be talking to all the time.....you can find out for sure by asking one of her friends or her....

Best way is to ask but thats not my way. Id rather get a convo going and ask if she was going out in the weekend. Then you should get the answer or it should lead to it.
