I have an old photo database and when I try to open it it says windows cannot open this file. What can I do?

The pictures are from my ipod and i lost them in my computer when i restored my computer.

A couple of options:
- See what the extension (.xxx) is for the file and then do an Internet search for a file to open it
- Try opening the file with Notepad or Microsoft Word which seems to open most files and see what you can see when you open it
- Check on the Apple (www.apple.com) site and see what they might suggest

i have over a 100,000 files i try n to open. windows tell me same thing. i had to do recovery too. i had every thing on disc's for recovery, but they wont open either. hope you get an answer that will helps us both.
