No. When you sign up, you agree to go where you are sent. I had no desire to go to Iraq. I was sent and I went. I actually kind of enjoyed it. I found the people there very nice.
What people need to do is to get a hold of their representatives and ask them what they think the U.S. military is for. I was always under the impression that it was for defending this nation. I don't believe that using the U.S. military to enforce U.N. demands is proper. In fact, you might ask him (or her) why they never voted for a Declaration of War.
My point is, the military is ready to do its job. The problem is in Washington, D.C. Why do the American people keep re-electing this same group of morons.

while Ehren Watada advance his dazzling arm he grew to grow to be Lt. Ehren Watada he does not have the out as a private citzen to settle for orders or reject orders consistent with how he feels politically approximately it. He violated the Uniform Code of protection rigidity Justice and could be punished after he had his path. The Lt could have renounce from the army by using like maximum i think they don't prefer to pass the place the bullets are flying. yet another element a brilliant number of the troops there voted for Bush and have confidence interior the project. Casey Sheehan being one. Surpising the desertion fee from the conflict in Iraq is below Vietnam and we've people who lost limbs that prefer to return. i'm not attentive to that occuring in the different time in our historic previous.

The guy is a coward and a moron. As a military member, YOU don't get to determine which wars you think are valid and which aren't. That's a job that's determined so far above this guy's paygrade that it's not even funny.
To be an objector, you can't support war at all. It's not the job of every soldier (especially not every officer) to pick and choose which battles they want to fight. The crap this guy is promoting would only lead to a poorly diciplined and ineffective fighting force. Honestly, i hope he earns brig time for his treason

He took the ROTC money, he took an oath to obey the orders of the President.
If you feel sorry for him then bake a cake and send it to him in care of the punishment barracks, Ft. Levenworth, Kansas.

This loser has placed his political opinions as higher than his sworn duty to the nation.
In so doing he has betrayed every person who has ever worn the uniform.
Let him rot in prison for the rest of his life.

Nobody forced this guy to be in the army, and he can't have been so dense as to be unaware that in the army, you have to follow orders. You don't get to say, "I'm a soldier and I only go to wars I like."
What he says is "his duty" is not in fact his duty. His duty is to serve as ordered, where ordered. Unlike the rest of us, who are not soldiers, but civilian citizens, it is we who have the responsibility to manage our government with the normal and usual political processes.
To be sure, he does not have to follow unlawful orders, and he is in that case required to report incidents of having received unlawful orders, and have the military's apparatus deal with that. But this war is not unlawful, Congress saw to that, whether it was lied to or not.
He should and will be reduced in rank to private, be put in the stockade, and dishonorably discharged when they let him out.

If he's a consciensious objector, he should follow proper procedures. However, he signed his commission on his own free will. If he's called to Iraq, he needs to go to Iraq.
