I've noticed lately that a lot of people have said it -is- possible and a lot of people say it -isn't- possible. I just want to know what people think. Now what I want to know exactly is.. Do you think its possible for a guy and a girl to be friends, without either one of them having some kind of feelings towards the other?

I personally believe its possible.

Based on my experience it is certainly possible. I have same-sex and opposite-sex friends and enjoy my platonic relationships with both. Chemistry between two people does not necessarily have to be "romantic" - I have can have chemistry and not have attraction. For me "chemistry" just occurs when two people "click" - it could be professional chemistry, friendly chemistry or romantic chemistry.

Hope you find your answer.

Absoloutely, I have lots of platonic relationships with women, and find that I can talk to them about things I could never discuss with my male friends. If you look beyond the physical aspects of male/female relationships, you can learn a lot about each other, and I find these friendships more fulfilling than a sexual relationship with someone. Now it bears saying that I am a single father, and have avoided all such romantic entanglements to be better able to focus on my son's needs, and it has been a difficult and narrow path to follow, but I have learned a lot and have formulated friendships with women that I know will last for a lifetime. Also, when you become romantically involved it does seem that that adds a extra pressure to the situation, and it can end horribly ( or not ), but the friendships don't have those pressures.

Yeah it's possible. It depends on the individual though. Some people cannot be in the presence of the opposite sex without developing feelings but some people can. So, if you are that sort of person then yes it's possible but if not then you would say it's impossible.

absolutely it's possible. some of my best friends are girls. maybe at one time there may be some sort of feelings or what you think are feeling growing, but if you handle it in a mature way and can see the friendship for what it is, a guy and a girl can make great friends. feelings are not anything to ruin a friendship over, they come and go.

Of course it is possible...it happens all the time...sure they have feelings toward each other, it's called friendship.

I've had many guy friends and know other women who have also...they didn't date, they didn't have sex, there was no one-sided unfulfilled longing...they were just friends.

Some people may find they cannot be friends with the opposite sex, but that's them...in general, yes...it can and does happen.

Yes, beacuse my best freind is a guy and personally I think guy friends are better than female friends because that way you can advice about a guy coming from a guy and then you dont have to worry about him sleeping with your man behind your back!

yeah it might just feel kinda awkward hanging around them b/c you are just friends. some guys take it the wrong way when you say your friends b/c then they want to be friends with benefits if you know what I mean.
