AIDS is caused by HIV (Human Immuno-Defiency Virus). So AIDS itself is not a virus but it is caused by a virus. Some people actually believe that the two aren't related. Which I think, is stupid.

But aids is defenitly a virus, transmitted through blood in semen. You can catch aids by having unprotected sex with someone infected or sharing needles. Like drugs with someone who has it. A lot of times people don't know they have it because they've never been tested.

AIDS is Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome. It is a virus that causes AIDS. HIV is the name of that virus. AIDS can be one or many conditions or diseases that result from a supressed immune system. Cancer, bacterial infections and viral infections can be AIDS related and result in death.

virus that less young people our and you would not believe this but i was flipping through channels and i came across CNN and they had a new study that shows that older people that are 50 and older are getting it more then young adults and teens!

A.I.D.S. is definitely a virus. So far as I know, a virus has no cure. It must be ' ridden out ' as they say. This one, of course, can't be.
