How do you get to the christmas tree from grand central in manhatten?

From the main concourse in Grand Central head west (if you're getting off a Metro North train turn right at the end of the platform) and follow the signs for the 45th St. passage. The passage leads to an exit at 45th and Madison which is just a few blocks from the tree. Walk west on 45th one block to 5th Ave. Turn right and walk up to 49th St. The best way to view the tree is to enter the Channel Gardens from 5th Ave. (begins half way between 49th and 50th Sts.) and you can't miss it! It's not a very long walk and I don't reccomend taking the bus or subway - they won't get you very much closer and it will take a lot longer. If you really can't walk, take a taxi.
